You're the one making stuff up. Everyone knows the GM acquires talent and the coaches and scouts have their input. Same for every team to one degree or another. Lately it appears Stephen and McClay do a lot more of it.

Ok this is the question. As a player, how do you go into next year with any respect at all for our coaching staff? When Garrett starts TC what could he say/do to make this team play better or earn any ounce of respect?
He's been exposed in so many areas include puppetry, players aren't stupid.

Yes, because when we were a power running team, and preferred hefty lineman because of Houck, who was Garrett's coach and the only type of OL he played and coached in and Parcells, we were on fire picking lineman..

Who do you think was evaluating them? Frederick wasn't even slated to be picked and Callahan wanted him. We had Floyd. And the next year, we had three defensive players slated before Martin. Leary was Callahan's first pick here as an Undrafted free agent, the year Garrett and Jerry leveraged the draft for another defensive player in Claiborne.

Dallas was targeting defense those years which they felt was their weak point.

The 3 players we had ranked before Martin were already took off the board. Martin was the top guy.

I think Callahan is a fine coach but giving him most of credit to building an offensive line with 3 first round picks is a stretch. If you give any position coach 3 first round picks, chances are they will succeed. Even Leary was never considered not talented...he wasn't drafted becaide of his knee.

One top round pick isn't going to fix this. Also have a strong feeling they are/were trying to win regardless of how that would affect draft positioning. Skins roll over us in a meaningless game, while laughing at us. Going to be a long reflective off-season for the Cowboys...

Romo's eventual replacement is a start.

To me, if I run this team, I cut him tomorrow. But that is just me.

And you would be dumb. McFadden is not the reason for the bad season. He has busted his butt and took advantage when he got a chance. Out of our starters, there are about I would take to task before I do McFadden.

I think everyone is ready to hit the reset button. The teams needs to purge as much crap from the roster and restock with some quality players. Cowboys can turn it around next year.
