Cowboys Vs. Eagles QB Hurts? Emmitt Says, ‘Shut Your Mouth!’

FRISCO -The Philadelphia Eagles have done almost every single thing right on the way to the Super Bowl, including developing a quarterback in Jalen Hurts who finished as the runner-up in MVP voting and might be the favorite to win that award in the Big Game.

Emmitt Smith recognizes that - and is (maybe) playfully instructing Dallas Cowboys fans to shut up about Hurts - and about any criticism they have of his “love” for Hurts.

“I love him. He’s a proven champion,” Smith said. They have a great chance of winning (against the Chiefs) and he is the reason why they will win.”

Another great talking about wins and championships are more important than stats.

Interesting take from a guy I respect.

MVP really isnt an award anymore. Its basically given to the QB for whomever football gets the farthest. Or close to it.

This year it is between Hurts and Mahomes. Because their teams got the farthest. One is much more deserving than the other.

The Cowboys after Dak need to get a QB who won championships or at least play for colleges who compete for championships each year.

Those individuals may be more focused on competing for SBs instead of their regular season stats, social media influence, and annual pay relative to their peers.

I've come to the conclusion, very late mind you, that this FO doesn't want or know how to win enough to go all out. Jerry seems to think talking about player acquisition is all it takes

Also, Jerry criticizing the Eagles approach when he should have taken a similar approach after the 2016 season when Dak was on his rookie contract.

Now that window has closed since Dak’s monster contract eats up a chunk of cap space.

LOL this is great. I'm glad you took notice. As old as I am, 2016 was the first time I paid very close attention to the Cowboys off season. We had a great year, and I wanted to see what the Cowboys were going to do to get over the top. Well, the Cowboys did nothing. Absolutely nothing. I was used to Jerry back in the day making all of these moves, a lot of bad moves, but he tried. From that, he went to doing nothing. And they've been doing nothing ever since. Oh yeah, a trade for Amari Cooper.
