I share Emmitt's respect for Hurts and that began with him getting benched in the biggest game of his life, up to that point, and his response to that. A true team player and leader.

Fact is many can't see past the uniform of the player and that's been the case for a long time. I can remember that going back as far as Sonny Jergensen, Theisman and then Jaworski (who was really easy to hate) McNabb and Manning. Always something wrong with them but nothing more wrong than that uniform.

And we never gave the two WAS QB's with the best beer bellies, Jergensen and Kilmer, their dues.

Put any uniform on Hurts besides that one and the respect for him grows exponentially.

The Cowboys after Dak need to get a QB who won championships or at least play for colleges who compete for championships each year.

Those individuals may be more focused on competing for SBs instead of their regular season stats, social media influence, and annual pay relative to their peers.

Or get a QB,that actually earned to be the starter and not be given the job because of injury, like dak has been given at every level of his playing career.. HS, college and pro.

LOL. Drew is a hard core believer in his Cowboys. I will never forget is appearance at the Draft in Philly. You're right, I am sure it pained him to speak those words. Props to him for his honesty.

FRISCO -The Philadelphia Eagles have done almost every single thing right on the way to the Super Bowl, including developing a quarterback in Jalen Hurts who finished as the runner-up in MVP voting and might be the favorite to win that award in the Big Game.

Emmitt Smith recognizes that - and is (maybe) playfully instructing Dallas Cowboys fans to shut up about Hurts - and about any criticism they have of his “love” for Hurts.

“I love him. He’s a proven champion,” Smith said. They have a great chance of winning (against the Chiefs) and he is the reason why they will win.”

MVP really isnt an award anymore. Its basically given to the QB for whomever football gets the farthest. Or close to it.

This year it is between Hurts and Mahomes. Because their teams got the farthest. One is much more deserving than the other.
