Based on the stats, the Cowboys offense still needs to be conservative. The area where the Giants rank the highest is in defensive INTs.

On offense the Giants have not been a good running team. I think we might see the Cowboys use more of the 3 man DL that we saw in the Pats game because that is designed to defend the pass but is weaker against the run.

The Cowboys defense obviously needs to get more INTs.

Giants Offense:
Pass Yards/Game: 10th
Rush Yards/Game: 28th
Ints Thrown: 4 (Most is 10, Least is 1)

Giants Defense:
Pass Yards/Game: 31st (2nd worst)
Rush Yards/Game: 7th best
Ints: Tied for 3rd best

Cowboys Offense:
Pass Yards/Game: 17th
Rush Yards/Game: 18th
Ints Thrown: 4 (Most is 10, Least is 1)

Cowboys Defense:
Pass Yards/Game: 17th
Rush Yards/Game: 11th
Ints: 30th

Another good thing for the Cowboys is that they held the Pats to their lowest 1st half scoring of the season.
The Pats points at the end of the 1st half this season:

For some reason I feel Jennings may have a good game rushing against us. So getting to Eli is much more imperative as not to let the passing game get going.

Those 2 are important for this game, with cassel being in first game.
Giants Defense:
Pass Yards/Game: 31st (2nd worst).. this will help cassel lol

Turnovers will help the team that gets them.

I've said this in other threads and I'll say it again here...our defense NEEDS to get back to forcing turnovers. And lots of them. We were very very good at it last year and this year we haven't been, at all. It's a big part of why we were 12-4 last year.

We need to get takeaways if we're going to be the team that we think we can be.

It's an interesting matchup and I'll say they're incredibly lucky right now with that pass defense that we only have 1-2 weapons on offense right now in the receiving game.

What we're going to be below average at, they're terrible at defending (the pass). What we need to be good at, and an area we've struggled, is actually their one strength (run game).

On the flip side, they haven't been able to run the ball all season, and their OL is underperforming pretty badly. I'd definitely expect to see more 3-2-6 package or even the Nascar package brought out, even on early downs.

We'll absolutely have to have some turnovers. On one hand, Eli should have a lot of trouble with pressure, on the other hand, our defenders need to catch the ball.

My favorite recent stat regarding the Giants and Cowboys is that we've beaten them 5 times in a row now dating back to the 2013 season. Hopefully we improve that stat tomorrow.

"Giants DT Johnathan Hankins vs. Cowboys LG La'el Collins

Rookie La'el Collins will have his hands full in his second career start matched against Hankins. This is a matchup the Giants need to win. With the rest of their defensive line struggling to get to the quarterback, Hankins could provide a serious boost to the pass rush if he dominates La'el Collins. The Cowboys may even need to provide him some help, which could open some things up for other Giants defensive linemen. "

Without Romo, i just have no feel for how the games will go... We know Romo could put 25-30 points on them even without Dez, but can Cassel? It's anybody's guess...

Win or lose today, I'm staying optimistic on the season... I'm confident that we'll still win at least a couple before Romo gets back, and I think that might be enough to save the season...

We're in a pretty good situation today... Lose, and it's really not the end of the world... But a win, would be HUGE! Thank God Romo was around to get us to 2-0 in the division...

I'm not worried about Collins physically. He has rare physical ability, especially for a rookie. When he had problems in the games that Leary missed, they were mental, not physical.

Hankins was a big problem against the run in the 1st game. Fred struggled with him. They need a plan for dealing with him in the running game. In the 1st game Fred was single blocking him too often.
