For those blaming the Defence.. ummm lets review. Yep they gave up a long TD drive first up and made the decision to play zone and not man. That was a mistake. But it is one score in what was expected to be a high scoring 'shoot out' style game.
Then Dak craps the bed for Punt 1. Then D does a GOOD JOB and holds GB to a punt. So they have adjusted and got back in the game.
Then Dak craps the bed with INT 1. D tries but can't stop the score from 20 yards out. Bearing in mind that in that situation an NFL offence would be expected to score a TD in close to 80% of the time. It would be more surprising if a D could stop it. It is made worse because our D is built for the pass rush.. which means that we want situations where they are trying to develop long plays.. not short, quick plays near the goal line. They score. The whole stadium starts to panic.
Then Dak craps the bed for Punt 2. D gets beaten, you can see the lack of confidence on the field.. which was made shorter by a stupid ST penalty. This is probably the worst drive from the D perspective.. but they are now playing against an offence that is in rhythm, feeling confident and coasting.
Then Dak craps the bed with INT 2 - a pick 6.
So the D has given up 14 points in a half to a high scoring offence - that is not actually the worst performance in history.
In comparison.. there is nothing, absolutely nothing that can be said for this offence. Nothing.
