Cowboys vs Packers: Play by Play of Romo's Failure

*Cliff Notes: Romo gets outplayed by another backup QB...

1st Time in the Redzone:
Ok on that last drive Escobar should have caught that one.

Bad forced throw to Witten almost picked off in the endzone...

Romo under throws Dez on a deep ball he could have scored on from about Cowboys 37 to Green Bays 14 yard line. Dez saved a pic on that one, had it been Austin it's Packers ball....
-Weak throw #1 today

Now Romo over throws Dez from the 33 to the endzone. Dez goes Superman but just too much mustard....
Fat Romo eats a sack..
3rd and 22

Romo under throws Witten on an easy TD from the 39 to the 6 yard line...

Romo under throws Dez again on what could have been a huge TD play with a better pass from Cowboys 34 to GB's 40...

-Weak Pass #2 (Or is it 3?)

Ok so half ends Cowboys up 26 - 3

___________-----------------------------------------**********************------------------------------------------

2nd half opening drive D lays an egg and GB scores.. 26-10
*Jordy Nelson drills Scandrick in the top of his head with his elbow just as the ball was about to arrive....

Dez open for an easy TD and Romo under throws him from the 42 to the 7 yard line.. Boys settle for 3....
*Edit from the reverse angle when Dez slowed down for the ball it hit him in the hands but the defender lays his arm out across the side of Dez's helmet just before the ball arrives..
GB got away with defensive and offensive PI lol

2 bad passes by Romo back to back, one to T-will (High) and 1 to mini-welker too low, Boys settle for 3.....

Cowboys depleted LB core starts giving up the underneath stuff.
Packers driving...
BCarr drops an easy pick....
I'm at 2 min, 3rd qtr
GB scores
29-17

*Remember we just settled for 2 FG's..
We gotta answer when other teams score, but we don't....

Ok we aren't running the ball....
(Trusting Romo?)

Demarco drops pass, bad pass by Romo, Romo sacked..

3 and out.... Punt

Special Teams lays an egg....
Selvie goes down...

GB scores...
*Backup LB's getting roasted underneath..
29-24
12:47 left in 4rth QTR.....

BFF (Witten) gets mugged, Romo throws a deflected pick...
Play reversed..

Dez flips out for the holding penalty and who checks Dez in the huddle? Not Romo, it's BFF.....

Like clock work, Romo throws into Quadruple coverage on the next play and BFF makes a spectacular reception for about 20 yards... BFF to the rescue....

Redzone: Romo throws a bad pass to Twilly its deflected at the 1 inch line...
Romo completes to BFF at the 5, 3rd down...
Dez makes circus catch behind defenders, TD Cowboys...
36-24

...

**We need a big body DB to spell Church, #42 is playing LB today...

Packers working underneath, body blow, body blow.....
Carr gets turned around, Packers in the Redzone now...
Packers answer back, TD...
36-31
4:17 left in the 4rth

***I guess Romo abandoned the run, hmmm...
.

Dez beats his man, Romo throws it short and defender drops a pick as Dez fights back (Again for the 5th time today) for the ball....
25 yard pass with nobody back there for support...
Romo-dini goes down after a real circle jerk scramble.
Troy speculates he did it to burn the clock with 4 min to go lol
..

Romo shucks a blitzer then throws a pic to Millie at the 50, sucks not having Dez fight for every pass....
Still not running the ball, hmmm
..

Something about not answering back scores, holy crap..

Packers down to the 6, less than 2 min to go, Cowboys timeout..
Packers get 1st down at the 3, Cowboys burn another timeout.
Interesting to note Hatcher wanted Hayden to trade with him and that's where they run it..
Lacy over the top, TD..
Packers go for 2, they fail..
37-36 Green Bay up.
1:31 left in the game...

Romo time one last chance...

Talk about pressure they start playing Don't Stop Believing as Romo walks onto the field...

Romo to Beasley for 9, runs out of bounds to stop the clock..
Romo throws a pick trying to hit Austin, another blown opportunity to potentially score on a very poorly thrown ball...

~VINTAGE ROMO~

SO, INSTEAD OF RUNNING THE BALL with a lead in the 2nd half, Garrett allows the Bus Driver to put the game in his hands and he chokes in Classic Romo Fashion... These 2 are tied to each other in epic failure... Garrett can't even get .25 cents out of every dollar of the $108 Million QB when it matters most......

So many blown opportunities by Romo's horrible passes, We left 4-5 TD's on the turf....

37-36 Romo defeats the Cowboys

I must say if Dez wasn't playing both offense and defense (Defending Romo's Horrible passes,) the outcome would have been much much worse.........................

Are we really still defending Romo around here???? The guy is done.....

How many points do you think Romo can score against our defense?

It will look like a basketball game score.

Who cares? We already know the D is depleted, we've had 17 + different guys on the line alone, back up LB's, safeties, etc.
We know what's wrong with the D but what is the offenses excuse? Romo is surrounded by weapons and 1st stringers so he has No excuse.

None....

Uh...the defense being historically bad doesn't excuse the defense from being historically bad. Saying that Romo has no excuse because he knows the defense is terrible so he has to be perfect is ridiculous.

This team is already in the playoffs with an average defense and a coach that's worth a damn.

No QB is going anywhere with this team as coached or constructed.

I disagree with you Dragon. Who said Romo had to be perfect? How close to perfect was he in this game? He was HORRIBLE in this game. We can't have horrible play out of our 108m QB. Just can't happen and is unacceptable. Stop defending him and just admit it man,the truth will set you free! Tons of underthrows/overthrows in this game, bad decision making, INT's etc. Just can't happen. If he was Jason Campbell and wasn't getting paid much, then fine... but he is Tony Romo and he gets paid elite money, money we can't use elsewhere on the team. He HAS to step up, especially when he has a solid Oline, a solid running game, and elite WR and TE, etc. Offense needs to do their job period, regardless of what the defense does.

As bad as the defense was in this game, if the offense does their job, we easily win.

How many punts can we expect our defense to have in order for this team to be successful? Can we expect that they will force 2 punts against Washington? How about the Eagles? Can we get the Eagles to punt one time? So, yes, the offense has to be perfect. They have to score on every possesion in order to be in "any" ball game. Thoughts?

This seems like cherry picking to me.

But there's no defending him in this game. He played poorly. But a lot of qb's have bad games.

This one game doesn't change my opinion of romo... I still think he's second tier

We all know the defense is horrendous and will cost us a ton of games and we HAVE to get that fixed next year. Our season is essentially over right now and the defense is the primary reason why. Ok, we established that right? I'm on the same page with you there.

Now, on to the offense. What is the offenses excuse for playing like crap when there are no injuries on offense, the line is blocking well, the RB is solid, we have an elite WR, and solid TE? As bad as our defense was out there against GB, are you telling me we would not have won the game if Tony didn't play better? Not perfect, just better? I get it, you love blindly love Tony, but be honest with yourself, he is playing bad football right now. If he played a good game.. not a great game and not a perfect game, we would have beaten GB. The end result would still be our team crashes and burns this year because of the defense, but the offense has looked like crap since the Denver game. They are playing a role in us sucking too, and Romo is a big part of that. Seriously, just be honest about it.

Sure, but why does it just have to be Tony? You make it sound like everybody else is doing thier jobs and Tony is the only one who isn't. There's so much that goes into making plays and drives successful or unsuccessful, but unfortunately, all we tend to see is the guy with the ball. How about all the plays where an OL blows and assignment, or a RB doesn't hit the right hole, or a WR/TE runs the wrong route or drops a pass. All those things lead to losing games, not just whether or not the QB calls a poor audible, or throws a bad pass.

Sure, we've needed Romo to play better. But why? Because we're just not that good in other parts of the game. This past game, sure, we had the running game going, and definitely should have stayed with it. And Romo blew it on that INT to Shields. The last one, looked like he went where he was supposed to go, but Beasely screwed up and stopped on his route. Dez can cry about the missed passes (and there were definitely a few) but if he doesn't slow down on his out and up, he has an easy TD.

We have good players on offense. The QB is one of them. He needs to be better, but if you really break down the film, you'll see that so does everybody else.

I get it, you blindly hate Romo. You act like he is the only one that didn't play well on offense. Do I think Romo played a perfect game, no. Do I think he could have made better throws, yes. But I also seem to recall Escobar and Dez dropping passes as well. He did enough to win that game last week. It shouldn't have come down to the last drive, but it always does with this team, always!

I'm so sick of people saying that he chokes all the time. Well, did he choke agains the Giants, Lions, and MN games this year, no? Shoot even against GB, he scored a TD that put Dallas up again with 7 min left in the game. And if the defense makes a stop, we win. He threw a pick with 2 min left, if the defense makes a stop we win.

Again, how many punts can our defense have over the next two games. Wanna bet it is only going to be 2-4. You don't think that puts pressure on your offense?

Actually, I pointed out why it was Romo's fault on offense. He overthrew Dez several times and overthrew him twice and we had to settle for field goals, he checked out of a run on 2-6 when he shouldn't have, he didn't set his feet and threw a CRUCIAL Int. I mean, who gets the lionshare of the blame for the way the offense played this past Sunday? Tony... period. Dez, Murray, Witten, and the Oline all played terrific ball out there. [/quote]

Tony HAS got to play solid football. We did not pay him elite level money to play average to below average out there. He is a big reason our offense sucks this year.

lol, man, we just have 2 different opinions. I'm not a hater at all, I'm a realist. If you play crappy football for my team, I'm going to call you out. Romo played like completely dog crap against the Packers. I don't care what anyone says.
