Cowboys Vs Panthers Week 1 Breakdown!

I'm in the foothills of NC, can't stand Newton.

Yep. I'm just down I-85 and it's rough.

Glad to see we can share in the struggle together. I'm about 9 miles from Uptown Charlotte in a suburb, Matthews.

People constantly give me crap about not rooting for the home team. Almost daily because I sport my gear year round. I think the hatred is so real here because it was formerly Commanders country. Panthers fans keep throwing the 2015 Thanksgiving game in my face. I'm always like: "Great, you pummeled a 35 year old QB that was playing injured, and like only 15 people from that squad are still on the team today. We'll see what you got on 9/9."

Here we go my friends Season is about to Kick Off ! Lets take a look at the week 1 matchup:

Cowboys Lead the Overall Series 9-4 But have been beaten both times they met in the playoffs and the Boys got smashed the last time they met in 2015 @ Home 33-14 where Luke Keuchly dominated.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honestly these 2 teams are so much alike it is scary and should make for a who wants it more on opening day!!!!! Check this out -

Lets Start with Suspension :

Thomas Davis - Suspended 4 games HUGE Loss for the Panthers IMO Classy Guy Honestly I like Thomas Davis (He is a Beast) Break for Us !

David Irving - Suspended 4 games --- He is a Beast But also a Little of a Bonehead but this suspension is good for Carolina

----------------------------------------------------------

Key Injuries:

Travis Frederick -- Huge Loss for us

Matt Kalil & Darryl Williams - Huge Loss for the Panthers There O-line is hurting really bad right now !

----------------------------------------------------------

4th Ranked - 131.4 YPG - 4.3 Avg - 15 Td's ----- Cam and Stewart - had about the same yards Cam led the team

Overall Opinion - Cam is a little less accurate then Dak but runs far more then Dak - these 2 are more alike on the field stats wise - Dak takes less chances and is more careful !!!!! DAK Dresses Better Also HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They have the D-line Advantage Now - we really need Gregory to have a game and take advantage of there thin O-Line

Love Smith on our team he is going to be a beast to Spell Zeke ---- I personally don't think the Panthers like the fact Cam leads the team in rushing but that is his game ----

----------------------------------------------------------

Receiving YPG

27th Ranked Funchess - 63 REC - 840 Yards - 8 TD's Panthers
28th Ranked Bryant - 69 REC - 838 Yards - 6 TD's Cowboys - Now he is Gone
57th Ranked McCaffrey - 80 REC - 651 Yards - 5 TD's Panthers ---- Zeke needs to have something similar this year would be nice
68th Ranked Williams - 53 REC - 568 Yards - 0 TD's Cowboys
71th Ranked Witten - 63 REC - 560 Yards - 5 TD's Cowboys He is Gone
101st Ranked Hurns ( Jacksonville ) - 39 REC 484 Yards - 2 TD's Cowboys

Panthers also get back Olsen - 2016 Stats - 80 REC 1073 Yards 3 TD's

Cowboys are gonna have to bring it at Receiver this will be a trend for sure all year--
Panthers have a solid core and they get back Olsen! Cam is comfortable with Funchess, Olsen, and McCaffrey now they add DJ Moore who was on the Cowboys radar they could have scary unit !

Rookies To Watch For:
Pre-Season Stats
Gallup - 4 REC - 75 Yards - 1TD
Dj Moore - 4 REC 75 Yards - 0 TD

---------------------------------------------------------------

I am sure there will be players added before Sunday on both sides !

IMO this game is going to be a hard hitting close game and the trenches are gonna be a war on both sides. Our receiving Corp will need to get open fast because the Panthers bring the heat from multiple positions - i expect Zeke to get some screens and that combined with austin hopefully give the Panthers D pause with all the speed options we possess.

Very interested to see how the Boys work in Rico or if they do !

On D our Revamped Secondary looks pretty good and i am confident we are headed in the right direction: Both Teams are not exactly shining at Safety so that is concern on both sides. With out talent at Linebacker ( hopefully LVE plays ) Smith is back and has been a beast we should be good against the run. They are missing Davis which is a plus for us him and Keuchly together is a dynamic duo for sure.

Cowboys rested a lot of players during pre-season so it will be interesting to see if there is a hangover week one versus a very good D!

But looking at all of this it is scary how similar these teams actually are !

To early for a score prediction yet But wanted to share my thoughts what say you !

Like many close games it will come down to coaching. Worst HC in the NFL makes that difficult for us. We could be driving down for the winning score with 50 seconds left and he would call a timeout. You never know what the fool is going to do. Its also in Carolina. Two huge advantages for them. If we can overcome these two things then we can win the game. Will be interesting to see how much the Frederick loss affects the RG. Maybe the defense can cause Cam to panic.

23-20 Cowboys.

We win with a last second 61yard FG by Maher. Brett "the Mailman" Maher delivers.

All we need to do is bring the bang. Feed Zeke early and often. Keuchley is good but I think hes had concussion issues which is bad news when facing a rockhead like Zeke. Especially if Davis is out. Dak can drive the bus.

24 - 17 Boys

Oh it's ridiculous. That 2015 year was something of the likes I've never seen.

I'm in Gastonia and the people around here were delusional, even after they lost in the Super Bowl. I also catch hell for being a Cowboy's fan. Nevermind the fact that my dad and all of his family are from Texas and I spent a part of my life there and also the fact that I'm loyal and my home team was the Cowboys long before the Panthers were ever a thought on anyone's mind.

I hope we get our stuff together in time for Sunday and go out there and take it to them. I'm debating on taking my wife but we'll see.

Good to meet a fellow Cowboy's fan close by.

Their godawful O-line against our new and improved D-line is a matchup I really want to see. We could make Cam's life really suck.
Our D looks better but it still has to show and prove. I think we will make boneheaded plays to include penalties to dig an early hole on the road. That's our usual early season pattern.

I get the same here in the triad portion of NC. Still sport my Cowboys shirt all over. Everyone ask if I am from Dallas. No just grew up loving Roger, Tom and TD.

Yeah I'm going but in a hold out to buy tickets. So far the cheapest I've seen is $180 a head for nosebleeds. Hoping the prices drop around Friday when people are trying to offload the tickets.

I'm reading reports saying that Matt Khail is the only OL on IR. Looks like the LG and Darryl Williams are optimistic about starting.

That's exactly what I'm doing.

The prices have already went down quite a bit and will continue to do so.

I'm in Indian land and there are a ton of cowboys fans out....my kids wore jerseys today to a bday party and got all kinds of compliments

I hope we win of course but i highly doubt it as your Offense woes especially will show there face early in the game.Zeke will get some yards but i have no idea how the heck were going to move the ball when Zeke is Shut down. Our defense will do there best and have some plays but in the end our new reality say's hello and not in a nice way......
I think this is the 10th time you’ve said this in various threads the last couple of days.

Nice breakdown. I like the Cowboys chances. I know I'm being a big homer but I think the D-Line can cause some problems for the Panthers and we actually get to see Zeke and how much he will help Dak and the passing game. It will probably still be close but I think Cam throws a couple of picks and the Cowboys win 27-17.

Kalil is only one they ired, decision was made today, what I read said it would be 4 weeks before Williams could reasonably be expected back! But hey, playing hurt may be better!

Me three...just need a single ticket but not paying more than 125% of face value

Luckly my high school buddy who is the CEO of a company in the triad, has PSL seats for the company and going with him since he knows I am a Boys fan and he is a Panthers fan. Hopefully it will be a long ride back for him from the Queen city to the triad.

Hopefully about as long of a night as it is for Playmaker watching this Miami game right now at Jerry Land.
