Question for anyone who's worked in sports journalism before: How much "freedom" do sportswriters who work for a team have to pick against that team?

On DallasCowboys.com, every single staff writer and editor picked Dallas to beat the Rams (of course.) Sure, maybe they really are that optimistic, but the cynic in me says that they would have put their jobs in jeopardy by picking the Rams to win. Are they "allowed" to pick against their employer team?

They pick against us all the time.

I know this isn't popular with some fans, but I will continue to go into Dallas' games expecting them to lose and hoping that they win. Saves me from having a coronary.

Ok here comes the pacing around like I got to pee,and can’t think straight. No wait... I really do have to pee. Point still stands though, this is a biggie game, and I’m gearing up for this one.
