With all of the themes and threads running around about comparisons between the teams I would like to go out and remind us Dallas fans that although Seattle and San Fran are built differently than we are they also..

Haven't paid their QB big bucks. Their QB's are still on rookie contracts that allow the team so much extra cap room to add playmakers to their defense. These teams won't be as good as soon as they have to shell out money to their QB's.

Mark it down.

I do agree that we were built backwards, going from playmakers THEN to trench players.

While they were built from trench players on up.

We will see how succesful they are when they fork over the big bucks in a bit.

I am jealous of how their fans and stadium operates though. I wish Dallas stadium had the same vibe that Seattle does. If only JJ would give discounted ticket prices to Cowboys fans... that would be a bonus.

''Everyone else got lucky! Wait until their luck runs out and then we will see who is laughing''

What a great argument.

Hats off to them, they deserve all the credit they get... but they haven't won anything yet and there's a graveyard full of teams that seemed poised for dynasties and fell flat on their face once injuries, contract demands or just good old law of averages struck. 2 years ago both Pittsburgh and Baltimore were 12-4 with fresh, young coaches and seemingly poised for long term success. Neither team made the playoffs this year. Within 2 years one or both of Seattle/San Fran will finish 6-10 or worse and be back to being doormats.

I don't really buy the QBs on rookie contract argument. As good as Wilson and Kaep are, these are teams that are so good it doesn't matter who you plug in as QB. I don't see those guys getting massive deals. They'll get paid but not top QB money. I think they understand their situations. They know they've been blessed with a great team. I also don't think they're the types that would jeopardize the quality of their team just to get paid. I also think the coaches aren't the types who would let a QB put a strangle hold on the team they built. These teams will be fine for a long time.

If Flacco gets paid big bucks I will go out on a limb that Colin and Wilson will get their big bucks when it is time.

If they don't someone else will. Another team will be willing to overpay for them both regardless, and they will accept it. It is how the NFL of today works.

I think they are both great teams and they drafted very well on the trenches.

I don't believe they will be the same team in a few years once they have to relocate their money on the QB. Pay them money that a playoff QB gets and they lose 3-4 solid to good players on either side of the ball.

Sorry but for both teams, this is their Superbowl window. Once their team has to cut ties with a few players they won't be nearly as dominant. I am not saying that they won't go as far, but overall as a team they will have more flaws.

Seattle still has 3 to 4 rookie players that will be receiving decent paydays.

Wilson, Irvin, Wagner, Sherman are all coming up... They also have Harvins fat payday to handle as well.

I think Earl Thomas is still on his rookie deal as well. If true, he will want to be the highest paid safety and you can bet big mouth Sherman is going to want to be the top paid CB.

Not saying they will sink into 6-10, but within the next 3 years they have a lot of decisions to make on players. that's the downside to drafting well....wish we had that problem.
