I can’t disagree with the play call. But a pitch or RPO would have been ok. Or a QB sneak..

Option up the middle and a stroll to the far endzone cone.

There isn’t a back in the league that scores on the play. The OL’s stance and alignment gave the play AND the gap away. Just a terrible playcall and execution.

Why teams insist on handing the ball off there always baffles me. A half yard or less should be auto QB sneak, a full yard or more a bootleg run/pass option has about a 90% success rate. The defense is hoping you have it off there.
