The Rooney rule was a great idea but in practice, it has failed minority coaches. The league is about 70% minorities yet there are only a handful of minority coaches and it has nothing to do with coaching qualifications. Hopefully equal opportunity for NFL coaches will improve. The good old boy system has never been equitable.

Perhaps there should be a rule for allowing more white players in the league since its predominately black players getting all the opportunities.

Of course that would be silly, you sign and play the players with the most talent. I would assume the same goes for coaching. I think the Rooney rule is stupid, decisive and akin to affirmative action which also failed.
