The only reason I have/had any excitement at all over the guy is that it would mean that Carr is done. Aside from that, he's just an average CB.

He turned things around last year and was one of the top cover corners. I believe I read 5,6 best somewhere in this thread. I don't think that is average.

His game is still improving, he's more of an above average corner now

The fact that he's on his way to being on his third team in as many years is pretty telling. The Chargers thought so highly of him that they replaced him with Casey Hayward and never looked back. I'm just not going to lose sleep over this one, guys like Robinson can be found between rounds 2-5. Having said that, I'd welcome him in Dallas.

Heyward ranked higher so they improved at corner. We have remained average. That is what drives me nuts and it is pretty rare for a CB to come in and have an impact his first year unless he is special. Not sure that will be there in those rounds but you never know.

That's a fair statement, but the guy will be 29 when the season starts, it'd a little late to be reaching "above average" status.

29 isn't old for a corner, around 28 years old is when they usually go into there prime years

Just turning 29. Either way he would have been an upgrade. There is no one left where we can say that.

Sorry guys, I just don't share your excitement when it comes to Robinson. I'd be more than happy to have him, but I'm just not going to lose sleep if we don't land him.

Maybe, but I was 100% right in what I predicted was happening. Sorry if you were not prepared to accept reality.

20 years of the same reality is par for the course. Going into a new year and wanting your team to improve in several areas and being disappointed if it doesn't is not a bad thing.

Being Debbie Downer is relative to various outcomes but as unlike our discussions about the DE position earlier in free agency, this appears to be a case of a player agreeing in principle then backing out and wanting more cash grab with a new agent after negotiations.

The whole thing seems odd and I do not blame the Cowboys for this situation.

I dont blame the team either. Nothing they could have done. I was just pointing out to everyone on this board that switching agents midstream suggested that another team was getting involved and he wasnt going to sign our deal.

This was not a case of the Cowboys not attempting to address the position and is put squarely in my view on the player and new agent.

I have never seen an agent switch after an agreement in principle on a contract, seems so odd and obviously more cash is the end game.

The Cowboys need to draft corners regardless, William Jackson would be a nice addition.

Typical sewer rat BS.....his new 'agent' or pimp whispered sweet nothings in his ear until he caved. Very might well not be a guy we want anyway at that rate. My guess is if he goes to Indy, he'll probably be gone. Oh well.

bump: told you guys last night. New agent, new team in the mix.....new deal. Nice job JJ. This is what happens when you have an 80 year old GM. LOL
