They can cut Lewis outright and bring him back once he's healthy if they want to. He's not vested so he won't be exposed to waivers, and they'll also save like 4 million against the cap.

Louis is already on the pup list so he's not on the 53 they don't have to do anything with him. as far as IR goes the only reason you put them on the 53 before you put them on IR is if you're going to bring them back this season overshown is not coming back this season so they can IR him now so it's not relevant

But if they cut him, he can then sign with anyone. Wish they would let us know how long before hes ready to go.

Dude is a player when healthy. I could see a team potentially matching or upping an offer to him if he can play in a month. Will the boys risk that? Depth behind Diggs, Gilmore and Bland looks sketchy.

NFL rules are it doesn’t matter when you cut them. All teams having until the same time for claims

Teams can bring up two practice squad players. 4 games max for each practice squad player per season

Last year, they cut the Punter and the Long-snapper to get 2 players to IR. The Punter and LS weren't subject to Waiver claims. Who does the team want to protect this year?

Edoga is a 4 year veteran what is the process to short term IR him?

Gotta feel bad for those handful of players who are legitimately on the bubble. I imagine the rest already know what's going to happen. Reminds me of JV and V ball when the players had to run to the chalkboard to see if you made the team or not.

Though 37 players need to be cut, remember the dream won't end for several of them thanks to the 16 man practice squad. Of course the PS will likely include some guys from other teams.
