Dak is a class act all the way. He's probably the future face of the NFL.
That prospective prompts a new line of discussion. Did any of Prescott's predecessors with the franchise achieved the unofficial title of The Face of the NFL at anytime during careers in previous eras? In my opinion, a few names are immediately debatable like Staubach, Aikman, Smith or Landry (best silhouette taken in a stadium's shadow of all-time that's for sure) but has the league ever promoted anyone associated with the franchise as The Guy as it has done with current and past NFL names like Brady, Montana, etc.? That said, it would be awesome seeing Prescott achieve that stature some day.

Think Roger was. He was the All American guy, Heisman winner out of the Naval Academy who served his country in Vietnam. A family man truly devoted to his wife and a religious man yet fierce competitor. He was Mr. Clean when the rest of the nation was going through turmoil.

I think back in the 70's the NFL promoted a lot of their Teams more than players like the Cowboys, Steelers and Raiders. But I agree Roger was one of the faces of the league because he was the QB of America's Team.

That as I mentioned he was the All American. Naval Academy clean cut guy. He was not out living the life of fame but on game day Roger expected to win

I caught myself being guilty of taking the focus away from Prescott in his Fallen Cop thread so I have created another thread and transplanted those applicable posts.. :) Members can discuss present Cowboys who may become the future face of the NFL and past Cowboys who were (or should have been) The league's face in the past here.

The NFL is such a localized sport nowadays that it's hard for any 1 player to be the face of the sport in my opinion. Dak can have all the success in the world and continue to be a model citizen and there will still be a pretty large group of NFL fans that hate him simply because he is the Cowboys QB. Romo is a shining example of that. Not that he ever did quite enough to be the face of the sport, but he was still a damn good QB that seems like 1 of the nicer, more down to earth athletes you'll ever meet and people still give him huge amounts of crap to this day.
Once Brady is gone I'm not sure we'll see a universally loved NFL player honestly.

And I'm not sure Brady is Universally loved outside New England. I think Peyton was more loved.
