Cooper wanting big time WR money should have him walking out the door, but he has the leverage since we gave up a first for him. Dumbest thing we've done in a long while - Zeke is another one that might push to be the highest paid at his position. I'd be doing my best not to give Zeke a long term deal and just keep him here for his prime only - maybe some franchise tags.

Looking at the WR's available in free agency and the draft, the Cowboys did the right thing with Cooper. He will be worth big-time money because he's still just 24 and is an advanced route runner. That means, unlike Dez Bryant, he will age well. Once his speed and explosiveness start to erode, he will still be effective because he relies on more than physical ability to get open.

Of all the players you mentioned, the only one I am leery of pouring a lot of money into is, believe it or not, Byron Jones. He had a great year at corner, but I would rather wait and see if he can do it again before signing him to a huge contract. Similar to what Dallas did with Lawrence. Make sure he's not a one year wonder.
