The Cowboys have scheduled a visit with Hillsdale WR Andre Holmes

The kid has some weird measurements.

He stands a little bit over 6' 4", has an arm length of 34", but then has abnormally small hands 8 5/8" for a person with his frame.

5' 5" Jacquizz Rodgers has larger hands than him at 8 7/8".

:) i posted awhile back about him, should be able to find it easy on draft section

7th rounder extra pick acquired in trade down, one of my real favorite pet cats:
WR Andre Holmes, Hillsdale; 6-4, 210, 4.47 to 4.53 ... Another former track star with excellent speed with a chance to shine at the combine; was actually recruited at Hillsdale as a triple jumper - he won the conference title as a freshman - and is relatively new to the game. Made huge strides as a wideout over his career at Hillsdale, though; indeed, caught 104 passes for almost 1,400 yards and 11 TDs as a senior; rangy receiver with long arms and decent hands and was a real match-up problem at the DII level, but has lots to learn about the nuances of the position.

C'mon, Joe, he might have kicked butt at Hillsdale, but you don't find many NFL corners on the field when they play...

IOW, it's one thing to say you like him, it's another to say "he can flat out play"... somehow, I think if he really was that good, NFL Draft Scout would have him ranked higher than 382nd on their board...

Until we know if he can handle press coverage from bigger NFL defenders, and if he can get separation against NFL-quality defensive backs, it's a little premature to make that claim...

Don't go overboard with your pet cats, ol' buddy... :D

His sarcasm just went right over your head, joe... what he's saying is that NOBODY from a college as small as Hillsdale is a good bet to make it in the NFL... Holmes hasn't faced a good level of competition, and until he does you simply can't project that he will...

Mind you, I like Holmes just fine; when I look at prospects from such small schools, what I look for is domination on that level, and Andre certainly provided that... I'm just saying that he's nowhere near the safe bet you seem to think he is...

:) wasnt saying he was a safe bet buddy, just one of my pet cats, and i like him alot

has dominated in small college level, reminds me alittle of miles austin when he came out

i do think he will step up once he hits the pros after his first year,

and with the cowboys interviewing him, thats shows their interested

:) and yeah some things go right over my head, but hey, im me, there is no one else like me, right silverbear? :starspin

Well, you kinda went a LITTLE beyond that, when you said "he can play"... that was my point...

I don't see that comparison, joe... I mean, Austin is a somewhat faster, and Monmouth is, I believe, a higher level of competition than Hillsdale plays at... on the flip side, Miles was nowhere NEAR as productive as Holmes has been in college...

Nope, about the only real comparison that I see between them is they're both big, and both played for small schools...

i do think he will step up once he hits the pros after his first year,

I'd suggest that optimism is not shared by a lot of scouts, based on his current draft grades... but you are, of course, completely entitled to your opinions... you might even be right, LOL...

Oh, I know they're interested, and if they pick him late (or sign him after the draft if he goes undrafted), I'll be content with that... like I said, I like him just fine...

Chuckle... nobody I've ever met, pal... and my life is a little more fun, as a result of knowing you...

cool buddy, when they made me, they broke the mold after me, probably LORD said, thats enough, we can only handle one Joe. Ive read where he runs the 40 anywhere from 4.43 to 4.5. When I said he can flat out play, he flashes at you when he plays. To me, good players do that, they flash and you see the potential, then its up to the coaches to bring out the talent and cultivate it. thats why i said, he can flat out play, (when he went against lesser talented players he dominated) had better stats and catching then miles austin did.

Granted you never know with a player, because you cant see in their heart, if they want to be the best and pay the price to be that talented player.

thats why in my mock, i had him going in 7th round,

Oh Silverbear! :D This from
The Sporting News says Holmes "jumped off the film" and is a big play threat:
Holmes is a tall receiver with explosive quickness and home-run speed who can turn short passes into big plays. He was more consistent in '10, making big plays in key situations. He certainly will be at least a late-round pick, but he could fly up boards in the spring with some standout pre-draft workouts.
