cowboys win despite the lack of leadership and accountability from the coaching staff

We had a lot of leadership on the field today. Romo really stepped up and took command of the offense (I dont think I've ever seen him make more audibles and call out more assignments before the play). The entire defense seemed really fired up.

I agree that the coaches are still lacking in a lot of areas (Wade just goes into a shell and looks lost when things are going poorly, and we still commit stupid penalties in bunches) but the playcalling and gameplan were much better today.

... not to mention a real quarterback, running backs who can stay healthy, tight ends who know where to line up, any receivers who can get open, a competent offensive line, any semblance of a pass rush, a real nose tackle, inside linebackers who make plays, cornerbacks who can cover or play the ball, safeties who do anything and returners who can actually gain positive yardage.

Thank goodness we at least have decent kickers.

I'll take at the 16 point lack of leadership and accountability from the coaching staff wins I can get.

Talk about a backhanded compliment. I guess hate makes you see what you want to see.

Anybody who thinks this is a "well-coached" team at this point is just not paying attention. The coachign was better, but well-coached teams don't commit flase start after false start and don't keep teams in games with penalties. We do these things on a weekly basis. It says a lot about our talent level that we did commit a bunch of stupid mistakes and still blew Atlanta out.

If we can stop the senseless penalties and missed defensive assignments, we could be the best team in football.

I guess coaching is the only reason this team hasnt won anything? Do we have that much talent? Witten had false start penalities with Big Bill....F.Adams is what he is and hasnt changed since being in the league....It is annoying seeing a DL line offsides....but really? Is that coaching? How many times do u have to tell a million dollar player how to line up? How many times do you have to tell a player to remember a snap count?

We have some stupid players......IMHO.....I dont think coaching can make them smarter.....not simple stuff like that.........the players have to play smarter.......Houch is considered a great OL coach yet he and Sparano couldnt get these guys to remember a snap count. ;)

I can see it now. Sometime in the future, there will be a blog headline that goes like this....

"Cowboys win SuperBowl despite the lack of leadership and accountability from the coaching staff!"

Etc.

No, it isnt all on the coaches, but continuous mental lapses and blown assignments reflect the team's coaching and preparation. A team's personality is defined by it's head coach, and ours has historically been very soft with no proven ability to win the big one.

Wade was better today. He'll have to continue to do that, and cut down on the penalties, if he wants the perception of him to change

Since the penalties are all on the coach I hope that you never say that Big Bill was a good coach because the same players did the same **** when he was here. When is it ever the players fault? Of course you should be an expert on watching poor coached teams being a fan of A&M so maybe you do know one when you see it.

We did commit stupid penalties under Parcells. We did not do it to the degree that Wade's teams do.

And A&M looked like a well-coached team this weekend

So is it the coaches fault or the players? You seem to make excuses for Bill but have pure hatred for Wade. So if the Aggies can o from being poor coached all year to well coached in week as you say then why can't the Cowboys?

Bill Parcells had the same problem with the majority of the players on this team, which tells me it is not all coaching. This group of players have some problems with making bad penalties.

 You hit the nail on the head. Some many of the Wade bashers can't stand the man, and look to bash em any chance they get. Even when Wade does coach a good game, the Wade bashers can't get over their hatred of the man and give Wade props when hes due. Pathetic.

Speaking of which, how about that game? That was awesome. I have a bunch of Tech friends, it was nice.

I'm honestly shocked that we are favored by 4, because nothing so far has given any indication that Dallas will beat Atlanta on sunday.

That's great

Too bad this team has given no indication whatsoever that this will happen

Just curious if you've found an indication that the Cowboys can beat Atlanta yet...?? :)

It was really awesome to finally win in Lubbuck. It completely shocked me that A&M not only won, but totally dominated Tech for the final 3 quarters.

Like I said in my thread, I'm happy to eat crow on this one. Dallas turned it around and really put a beating on a good team.

I'm just skeptical that it will become a habit. Hopefully it does.
