Ramsey and Slay really live off of their reputation more than anything else.
Slay had one of the best first halves of the season statistically that we’ve ever seen. He trailed off toward the end but the average was still really high

So in other words he's living off past reputation.

He had a good game against Minnesota - 5/14 PDs, 2/3 INTs - with Kirk Cousins just throwing LOL passes and then was pedestrian the next 15 weeks. He's one of the most overrated defensive players of the last decade, and he wasn't good at all last year after like week 4.

Why are you stopping at week 4? What are you basing this off of? Tackles? Passes defended? Interceptions?

That’s never been how CBs have been valued. If Deion has a game where no one throws the ball to his side, he has 0 deflections and 0 interceptions and the QB goes off by targetting the other CB over and over and he throws for 400 yards… your argument is Deion with 0 passes deflected and 0 INTs had a bad game?

The top CBs rarely are the league leaders in interceptions, as QBs rarely throw their way. And when they do, they make sure it’s in a favorable situation and not a bad decision. Trevon Diggs is a perfect example of this. In 2021 he led the league interceptions, in part because QBs were constantly throwing at him as he led the entire league in passing yards allowed. In 2022 he cleaned that up a bit and his INTs went way down. In fact, he didn’t have a single pick his final 11 games; but you could make the argument he was playing at a higher level than he did the year before because he was giving up a lot less easy stuff. He rarely bit last year.

You can track how well a CB is covering his receiver not only by how low the passer rating is against him, but by how often the QB throws there at all, and in what situations. Darius Slay typically covered the #1 receiver on the opponent’s team all year. His Successfull Coverage OveR Expected (SCORE) grade was #1 in the entire league. It wasn’t just the first 4 weeks.

Coverage over expected, where he came out as #1 in the nfl for the entirety of the season. And that’s even with his second half not quite being ok the same level (but still good)
I don't care about your troll words. Show your source or sthu
