Why are you stopping at week 4? What are you basing this off of? Tackles? Passes defended? Interceptions?
He didn't play against Jax week 4, so I just went after that. Completion percentage and QB rating allowed.

I'm not reading all that. He's a fine corner. Is he a top-5 corner in the league, I don't think so. He, like the rest of that defense, benefitted from playing crappy QBs all year.

I think that if Jerry knew what he drafted in Micah Parsons then he wouldn't have felt so obligated to make up for not drafting Horn or Surtain. He wouldn't have drafted Kelvin Joseph.in the 2nd round, a desperation move.

Two years later, Jerry has the best young defender in the NFL to go along with two of the top ten CB's in the league,

Do you see how things tend to work out better when Jerry doesn't force things?

Jerry forced Morris Claiborne, Taco Charlton, and Ezekiel Elliot. He tried to force Johnny Manziel and Paxton Lynch. In the 2nd round he often forces a pick he perceives as a "need" and he reaches for players that typically underperform during their career.

Ironically, when he doesn't get what he wants, he ends up with what the team actually needed.

He lost out on the two CB's in the 2021 draft but got Micah. He lost out on Manziel but got Zack Martin. He lost out on Paxton Lynch but got Dak Prescott.

He's not a talented GM, but you gotta give him credit for far more than his fair share of luck.

It's going to be interesting to see how Diggs handles being the more targeted CB of the 2 starters.

Well if he hasn't corrected his inability to defend the double move, then he may be targeted on a regular.

Slay had one of the best first halves of the season statistically that we’ve ever seen. He trailed off toward the end but the average was still really high
It’s funny Eagles fans when they thought he was getting released they all said he sucked the second half of the season and Bradberry was better.

Successful drafting is luck though.

Lockdown duo. With the safeties we have and potential depth, I’ve never been this confident in a Cowboys secondary in my life (born in 95).

PS if you don’t wanna pay Diggs who’s only played CB for 5 years and was an island for 13 or so weeks last year you’re insane. To never have CB’s and now want to not pay a dang near elite CB is laughable.

Just for a shaky playoff game or because he’s not a physical tackler lol. If your CB is making a bunch of tackles he’s probably getting burnt too. He’s not perfect, but at what CB’s are paid to do he’s damn near elite.

I was all for the pay Diggs vibe but if continues this ticky tacky flag football tackling stuff he was doing at the end of the season / playoffs I dunno. He was no tackling powerhouse to begin with but to avoid contact like he was doing I can't get behind that play style

I won't deny it's a very large percentage. However, if it was only luck then success would have been more evenly distributed.

Historically speaking , there are the "have's" and there are the "have-nots".

The "have's" have been the Patriots, Packers, Steelers, 49ers, and Cowboys.

The "have-nots" have been the Vikings, Lions, Cardinals, and any team in Houston.

A strong GM and a talented management structure does make a difference.

It’s an area he needs improvement in for sure, but the things you need CB’s to do he does so well.
