The Dallas Cowboys conducted a private workout today for Temple running back Jahad Thomas, according to a league source.
He was a second-team all-conference selection, rushing for 953 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He caught 33 passes for 418 yards and six scores.
As a junior, he rushed for 1,262 yards and had 1,677 all-purpose yards and scored 114 points.
As a sophomore, he had 150 receiving yards against Houston. He was the primary kickoff returner as a freshman.
The Cowboys could look to grab Thomas as an undrafted free agent and utilize him on special teams while they groom him to supplant McFadden at RB2, and that wouldn't be a questionable thought -- especially considering the veteran is operating under a one-year dea
lWhere he lacks in overall measurables, though, Thomas delivers in on-the-field production.
A second-team all-conference selection, he'd rush for 2,215 yards and an insane 30 touchdowns in his final two years at Temple. A multi-threat back, Thomas also reeled in 634 receiving yards and seven receiving TDs over that same span of time.
Overall, he was responsible for 2,849 yards from scrimmage and 222 total points scored between the 2015 and 2016 seasons. It's not hard to see why he's able to generate that type of production.
