Cowboys working on pretty substantive trades

If thats his best position, we might need to draft his replacement at 12. He literally graded out as one of the worst tackles in the NFL last year.
Do you think he will be better this year? I mean, new OL coaching, a full off season to get stronger, a full season of learning and experience under his belt....

That's exactly what was said he needed a year ago when he was drafted. His replacement won't be drafted at 12.

We've had plenty of 4th, 5th and later round picks which have accumulated to nothing. We need a difference maker or two in this draft.

You could get 3 if you play it rights. It's actually a pretty strong draft.

I think some people got spooked by the mild reaction from Duke Manyweather after Guyton’s work at his off season “Masterminds Summit”.

If you honestly are delusional enough to believe that you still have a shot at a super bowl in the next couple of seasons than you have to get out of this draft with an impact RB. If not this team will be at best 9-8 and more likely 7-10. Henry is the only player worthy of giving up next years number 1 and while I am not in love with that idea I understand it but this team will still only go as far as a running back will take them but I would never give up next years first to go get Jeanty. Now this years second and maybe a 4th the following year I could live with that, it would hurt but I could live with it.

Why not keep him at his best position LT?
Fact that he played his entire college career at RT tells you that’s currently his best/most natural position.

Not saying he won’t improve at LT, but if we’re looking for instant impact/improvement in the OL, it seems an obviously good option to move Smith to the outside, put Bass at LG, and move Guyton back home to RT (and/or put Steele back in for running downs).

No. He played RT because the QB was a lefty. He was their best tackle and they wanted him to be the blindside protector.

I saw this and my reaction was fear. First, it's Jerry making these deals obviously, since he had to announce them. And that troubles me too. Why announce them? Is he trading players?

Then he said it could happen before or after the draft which means this is not about draft picks this year. It's not about moving up or down. It sounds like he is talking about trading away players for player, players for future draft picks, or future draft picks for players. My guess, based on history is he is looking to trade future draft picks away for veteran players.

Nothing is wrong with this except whenever Jerry makes a deal, the Cowboys give up more than they get in return.

should never have started last year at LT. he simply was not ready.
