Neal has been quickly rising on the draft board since the end of his junior year at Florida in 2015. At the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine in February, the 6-0, 211-pound defensive back ran a 4.59 40-yard dash time and posted 38-inch vertical jump with a 132-inch broad jump. Here's what CBSSports.com draft analyst Dane Brugler had to say about his strengths:

"Looks the part with a developed physique and long arms. Highly physical and aggressive tackler, using his length to hit, lift and drive. Plays with violence and anger, exploding through his hips and striking with authority.

Smooth athlete for his size and controls his momentum well in space. Consistent play speed, showing functional range. Attacks alleys and flows well with the action, never playing bored. Tough player and fights through pain. Productive junior season, averaging 8.7 tackles per start in 2015."

I'm wanting more seperating physical abilities in my chosen safeties...does sound like a valid football player, although. A touch slow for my tastes.

So a report from yesterday said this is a terrible safety draft and there were only 1 or 2 guys that the source liked. Now this guy is a potential first rounder? Shows that beauty is truly in the eye...

Sometimes, guys get 'unearthed' to us late in the process. But these are guys actual scouts knew about all along. Guys like Byron Jones, Ware, Demarious Randall from last year etc.

I was hoping we could get this guy in the 4th or 3rd. Looks like that is out the window.

I saw a report that he's been invited to attend the draft. More often thannot they have a good feel for who's going to get drafted in the 1st Rd. And before anyone brings up Gregory last year, that's the exception not the rule. I like the player, but not anywhere close to where he's been getting projected recently.

Really high on this kid, would probably hope for a third round to take take him....but I wouldn't hate it in the second.
Is a very similar prospect to TJ Ward with a little more physicality.

It seems everyday someone is writing a article about a player being another first round pick, there are only 31 spots open, everybody can't go in the first round. But I do expect some surprises this year, more surprises than usual.

I think the whole team needs more speed , these borderline speed guys only slow down with age.

The Bob Hayeses add new wrinkles upon the faces of Defensive Coordinators, that's for sure.

As to attack aircraft...above a mach 1.5 or 2...an aircraft becomes a poor candidate for a fight scenario, because they are well past the contested area too quickly to counter a move. Mach 3-5 is more in the role of a missile.

Same with defenders. Reaction and explosiveness are the key.

It's pretty easy to show up when Hargreaves & Tabor are back there with you. Kid gave up some big plays...... But others did as well.

I'm much more excited about Tabor next year

Sounds like another SS. We have a number of those. Unless Jones is making the conversion, we need a FS to take away the deep ball.
