The NFL's Most Valuable Teams

Just because the auction of the Buffalo Bills is having a tough time drawing bids above $1 billion two years after the Cleveland Browns sold for $987 million, and just weeks after the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Clippers were sold for $2 billion, doesn’t mean the National Football League is losing its status as the most valuable sports league in the world.

To the contrary: The average NFL team is currently worth $1.43 billion, the highest value in the 17 years Forbes has tracked professional football team finances. The $1.43 billion average is 23% more than a year ago, the biggest year-over-year increase since 1999.

Forbes’ team values are enterprise values (equity plus net debt) and are calculated using multiples of revenue that reflect each team’s current stadium economics (with adjustments for pending new stadiums and renovations).

The bold is the most important part.

This all goes to show how much Russia is screwing up by refusing American import!!

Probably not that much more. These are the standings that Jerry really cares about, and guess what? He's winning. It's why he has and always will do whatever he wants.

I always laugh when people are start posts on here like "heyyyyy lets all stop buying tickets/tshirts/hats!" As if that would do a lick of anything. If every single person who posts on this board, starting tomorrow, never spent one more nickel on the team, it would be the proverbial gnat hitting the windshield for Jerry.

Ride the ride, check out the sights and thrills, and be ready for the ups and downs. Teeth gnashing and complaining won't derail this roller coaster.

I completely agree... if the windshield is mounted on a C-130 flying 300 mph.

OK......but does it really mean anything? It's not like Jerry is selling the team. We know the Cowboys brand is very valuable and I guess it feels good we are still #1 at something. But better success on the field (specifically in post season play) would have put me in a better mood the last few years.

Saw this reported earlier. It's astounding how this team's value can continue to go up when the Organization continues to be little more then average.

You have to give it up to the marketing department. Company builds a diminishing product over time, charges more and increases Equity value...

A long lasting fan, it would us all as well.

Not much more really.

They max out attendance already and for the most part, jersey sales revenue etc are shared with the league. TV rights are already locked in. Salary cap is set...etc.

I'm buying a team now before the price goes up any more.

Ha ha - if you were going to buy the Cowboys and they were for sale you can bet you wouldn't get them at 3.2 B. You'd be looking at 6 or 7 at least considering future growth.
