Theory: NFL wants Players and NFLPA overfocused on Suspensions like Zeke's and Weed based Suspensions during the next CBA.

The NFL could be trying to get a redo on the CBA before the current one is up in 2020.

Many players will give in on money related issues in exchange for new rules related to suspensions and weed.

Or there is a really damaging CTE report that is about to peel back and reveal many legal problems for the NFL

I also think they enjoy talking about Zeke more than Kaepernick.

Normally I would agree but I think the NFL is hurting their brand and losing fan support each time they do something like this. They gained a little with fans a few months ago by announcing they were easing up on post touchdown celebrations only to lose all of that and more with Elliott's suspension.

The NFL owners will have much less fan support during the next CBA negotiations than they had in the past and the NFLPA will definitly take advantage of that I am sure.
