Hope That the 2011 Draft Tree Bears Peaches Instead of Lemons

....Some of the remarks carry the implication that certain skills or positions are simply better than others. What happens, however, when all of the alleged top prospects at any and all positions go sour? Worried that Tyron Smith is overrated and unworthy of the 9th pick? You may be right, but what if Anthony Castonzo, Derek Sherrod, Nate Solder and Gabe Carimi are busts-in-waiting too? It's happened before.
I offer for consideration the 2006 draft. It ranks among the worst Cowboys efforts in recent years, with Bobby Carpenter and the long-departed Anthony Fasano in rounds 1 and 2. A broader view shows that almost all the top selectors had difficulty, because most of the top players proved to be flawed. Here is the top 10:
1. Texans, Mario Williams, DE
2. Saints, Reggie Bush, RB
3. Titans, Vince Young, QB
4. Jets, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, LT
5. Packers, A.J. Hawk, ILB
6. 49ers, Vernon Davis, TE
7. Raiders, Michael Huff, S
8. Bills, Donte Whitner, S
9. Lions, Ernie Sims, OLB
10. Cards, Matt Leinart, QB....
