Last year was the first time we as a site did not hold a Mock Draft. This is my fault. There were some things going on in my personal life that took priority. I apologize for that because we have always had a great time with the Mocks we do here.
Right now, we are looking for 10 more owners. Several people who have been involved in the past have already been contacted via PMs. We have a total of 22 owners right now.
Saturday or Sunday we will hold a lottery to determine which 32 teams get which owners. I will put one of that group in a hat and the co-commissioner of this draft will put the other group in his hat. We will draw a name and a team and that becomes the team you get.
We want you to study that team's needs. Don't just draft the player you would take if you had Dallas, draft the player you actually think that team will need and take.
The Draft will be 4 rounds. There will be an hour time limit for round 1, 45 minutes for round 2, and 30 minutes for 3 and 4. Trades are accepted.
It will begin on Monday February 20th, at 9:00 AM Eastern time.
Here is how we are going to keep it moving. We're going to contact team owners via PM, e-mail, or even text message when the draft has moved within 5 picks of their choice. Let's say for instance that you have the Cowboys at 14. When we get to pick number 9 we're going to inform you.
At that time we want you to send us back in order, who your top 5 picks for that team would be. We will enter as your pick the top choice on that list. If we get no picks from an owner and the hour has passed on his time limit, we will make the pick for that team to keep the Draft moving, or we will hand the team to a reserve owner and give him the pick.
There will be a thread in the Draft Zone keeping track of the entire Draft round by round. It will last several days. We will stop at a predetermined hour each evening.
