Okay, hopefully by now you know the rules. Give him a grade based upon your evaluation of his performance.

A, B, C, D, or F. Again, no incompletes.

Judge Kitna based upon anything you wish related to the team and season.

There are no wrong grades because it is your classroom. Discuss the grades if you choose to.

Sorry folks, had to take it down to fix the poll. 2 votes have to be re-submitted. My fault totally.

EDIT...I should go ahead and discuss my grade. Mine is served with a heaping plate of crow. I was Jon Kitna's biggest critic in the pre-season and I thought when Romo went down we were dead. I was wrong and he was an absolute gift from above. He took over the team and just flat out did his job.

I was dead wrong about the man. My feet did not taste good as I changed them every time I opened my mouth about him. He shut me up.

Ah right one more time, don't let it happen again. :laugh2:

Gave him B+ was very happy with his play as Romo backup.

This is a tough one. Struggled early but played better as the season went on. I gave him a B because of his leadership ability. I think the team played better around him.

Kind of tricky. As a QB he was only ok.

Do I grade him based on him playing well despite being Jon Kitna?

Well you're not going to get the same long-winded post out of me on the 2nd take, but....
He's earned an A in my book. He exceeded my expectations of what a veteran backup QB can do. His savy play, leadership & heart, even when things weren't going so well, really gave me a newfound respect for him. I was happy to see the rest of the team play up to his level once JG took over. IMHO, Dez and Kitna were the only ones showing up when the ship was sinking.

Would add a plus to my B if I could. An A- would even be a consideration if it were available, but ultimately i went with a B.

The grading scale is different for a backup than a starter as far as I am concerned, and for the role he fills on the team I thought he did an outstanding job.

he should have a grade of incomplete, because...just kidding. My expectations were low but he was a pleasant surprise. Threw the ball well and moved the offense. He did what a good backup should do and won nearly half his starts on a team that was 1-5 when he inherited the job. With a break here or there he could have been about 6-3.

Guys like playing with him and rallied around him. Good leader. Gave him a B.

I give Kitna an A as well.

He stepped in, basically cold, and ended up having a pretty nice season and helping us win more than we lost down the stretch.

He did exactly what we need from a backup QB and then some. He's getting up there in age, but I feel very confident moving forward with him as our backup QB for at least one more year.

That's why I gave him an A...he far exceeded my expectations as a backup QB, and for him being Jon Kitna especially.

I am agreeing with you here. My grade is also based on an IOU to him because I was not a believer at all.

I had zero expectations for kitna. I thought he did a fabulous job of keeping the offense running. He had a off game or two, but overall I'd say he was consistent. B+

he is a back up, so i graded him as a back up. he came in, took over the huddle, won some games, and played as well as you could hope for given the situation and under preforming talent around him. i gave him an A

I hope more people will. I am not shocked by yesterday. Not one bit.

I thought he would give us a real chance to move the ball and win if he had to play here and there, but I did not think he would be as solid and steady as he was if he had to fill in for a long time.

In 2010, Kitna's play deserves a big A. Why? Because he was a backup quarterback who had not started a game in 2+ years and he came in and played very well.

Now, if the question was rate Kitna as a starting quarterback on a team based on last year's performance, I would give him a B or B- because there is a drop off between him the better quarterbacks in the league.

Let's face it though .. if Kitna was an A starter, he wouldn't be a backup.

Has to be an A.

The guy played extremely well after getting the full jist of the offense. I was impressed. He went above and beyond my expectations.

I hold him to a lower standard than Romo. I gave him a B. Were it an option, I'd have given him a B+.

This. One of the best back-up performances I've seen. (A-)
