They didn't let me down. I thought it was a 9-7, maybe 10-6, team and that we would probably lose to New England but put up a good fight and probably cover the spread. We're still well on track or 9-7 or 10-6, we put up a good fight and covered the spread.

The clueless homers are the ones who have their panties in a knot that we lost to the Patriots on the road.

Nailed it!

August: I see this team as a 13-3 team. Maybe 12-4. Dez is going to break all of Jerry Rice's records. I think he's that talented.

Days before the Patriots game: I think we're going to win easily. I don't care if we're on the road. I don't care if Vegas has us as 7 point underdogs. Everyone's healthy. New England and Belicheat are way overrated by the media.

After Patriots game: I'm not like the rest of your blind homer happy fans!!!! This team sucks !!! Don't get mad at me because I'm a realist!!!

The point is: how dare they act like simpering girlscouts just because they're upset. This nuance should not have escaped even you, RTH.

And 'childishness' is a word. It's a noun-form of the word 'childish.'

Childishness is not a word, and you can't show me any reputable dictionary that includes it, sir.

Neither of those losses was historically notable, and the play calling in *any* game is 'questionable', Saltwater. At the end of the day, we lost to two teams that were better than we are and a third team, at home, who's in the same category.

Everybody here *should* have expected a loss in NE. I'm glad we're playing well and are competitive. There's a ton of football left to be played.

They were historically notable because they will go in the record books replacing our previous "biggest fail ever" moments.

You can use the same "well we weren't supposed to win because they're better than us" bull**** excuse that Hos is, but the fact is.. we played a couple of the big dogs so far this season and we hung with them all the way, and should have beat them if not for complete meltdowns.

We GAVE those teams wins.. we can hang with anyone in this league right now.

You saying we should expect a loss is comical at best. We SHOULD have expected to beat those teams when we were up late in the game against both. They arn't better than us, we just gave the games away. We're as good as any team in the league right now, we just have to figure out how to put teams away.

Just once I'd like to come in here after a loss and find out important information. For example, what is up with the Jones and Nagy injuries.

Instead I get a bunch of whining and armchair analysis from folks who think they are so much better at coaching than whoever our HC is at the time.

We lost to a very good team at home. We battled. We came up short. It sucks but it doesn't mean that, as a team, we suck.

I suppose you have three choices.

Look only for the information you seek here avoiding all else.

Ignore the people whom you think are know-nothings.

Don't come here.

However, having said all that, you did find way four. Whining about what others post.

Bravo. Well played, sir.

Why do you even try, RTH? Especially with stuff where it's so easy to demonstrate that you're wrong? I don't get it.

I don't really have much problem with this. I don't see how it matters much if the game-losing plays happen in succession or at or near the end of the game. We still had time to beat the Lions and didn't do it.

What I'm saying about expecting losses, is that we're making mistakes that keep games close against good teams. When you do that, you should expect to lose your share of those games. That's pretty much playing out right in front of our eyes.

We may not want to admit it, but the Lions and Patriots *are* better than we are right now, because they don't make the volume and kinds of mistakes that get them beat that we do. If we're able to correct the turnovers, mental errors, and red zone execution problems that are biting us right now, we'll likely be better than either of them. We haven't yet, though, and we aren't

Thank you, Faerluna. I was going to let it slide to avoid another round of off-topic bickering, but I appreciate the quick validation.

I was wrong. Doesn't sound like a word, and i think you could have simply said "childish", but hey.. you were right.

Anyway, you have a valid point that we keep making the same mistakes to give other teams the game. But the fact that we hang with the big dogs and put ourselves in a position to win these games says to me that we are just as good as them, if not better. Choking at the end is the result of poor management, imo. Garrett really has a lot to learn about game management, its his biggest flaw. He needs to keep guys calm and focused at these critical moments, especially our star players.

But again, we can hang with the big dogs and we've been in position to beat them, so i don't think you can say we arn't as good as them.
