ARLINGTON -- He knew this day, his time to shine in the NFL, was coming.

Even when he grew to be just 5-feet, 8-inches tall....even when he went undrafted coming out of North Texas....even when his fumble in Kansas City proved costly in Week Two...heck, you can go back long before any of that.

Even when the levees broke in 2005, when Katrina's flood waters surged and his family said goodbye to New Orleans and spent two weeks in a Mississippi evacuation center before coming to live with a family friend in Haltom City -- even then Lance Dunbar believed his day was coming.

Cowboys fans were thankful that day arrived in time to light a fire under a dormant offense as Dallas rallied from 14 points down to defeat the Oakland Raiders, 31-24, and take sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

DeMarco Murray, the seasoned back who has done this before, got the three touchdowns, but Dunbar led backs from both teams with 82 yards on 12 carries in the Cowboys' seventh win of the season.

He entered the game with 68 rushing yards for the entire season.

"I was waiting for this day,'' Dunbar said. "I've had to be patient. But I've always believed it would happen.''

Man does he have quick feet and his vision is tremendous.

Still a little concerned about how he holds the ball, but guy could be a game changer if he can avoid turrnovers.

I was starting to get scared there were not going to be any more Katrina stories. lol

He played outstanding tonight. Atleast tonight, he looked like a fantastic compliment to Murray.

Yea he gives this team a much needed boost and change of pace when he comes in the game. I love Demarco's game but Dunbar is great for Murray and this team. There's going to come a time when this team can't get any thing off due to an all out blitz that we can't seem to do anything against and I hope they revisit giving him a screen pass in that instance.

Yea, that part could have been left out of the title. How is that of any relevance? Hurricanes occur every year and affect hundreds of thousands of people. Heck, I have survived quite a few, where is my headline? Even lost a house in one.

I know it is a bit insensitive, just tired of hearing about that storm and people using it as a crutch. Lots were really effected and I feel bad for them but no need showcase a mere few to get some point across.

Not to take away from their success today, but you gotta give credit to the OL. The blocking was awesome. Had we had this sort of support up front, we would have seen these types of performances in years past. Hell, if Murray was healthy throughout this season he would likely be on pace with the elite running backs in the league.

I still do not understand what took so long to give him the ball?

He was one of the stories in the summer and they knew what they had with him, then he just sits on the sideline.

That other gear he showed when he zipped all over the field for 25+ was the most exciting thing I've seen in a while.
