It doesn't mean anything, but I thought I'd share it.

Crabtree Not Interested In Playing For The Raiders?

RaiderBeat.com reports Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree participated in a live-chat session Thursday on NFL.com.
At one point, a questioner asked Crabtree his thoughts on playing for the Raiders.

“I’m not cocky at all,” Crabtree said. “People talk, man, but I’m a cool guy. As for playing for the Raiders, no comment.”

He later said it would be fun playing for the Dallas Cowboys, the team he rooted for as a child. He also has said that he wants to play for the Cleveland Browns.

So, why the slight against the Raiders? Crabtree didn’t expand upon his “no comment” remark. He did say later in the chat he didn’t mean he didn’t want to play for the Raiders and that he will play for “whoever chooses me.”

I wouldn't want to play for the Raiders, either. It is a dysfunctional franchise. Still it won't play well for Crabtree if they do draft him.

I can't blame him for not being excited about the idea of playing for the Raiders. Maybe he'll get lucky and they'll take Maclin instead (If they both happen to be there at that point) because Maclin is the more speed receiver of the two, I guess.

He is IMHO the best player in this entire draft, wherever he goes next year he will make an impact.

If the Raiders take Maclin over him they are stupid.

I've heard we like him a lot, and it makes me wonder if there would be smoke to this fire if we still had our picks.

I work for a radio station in NY. We had Crabtree on the other day, and I spoke to him for about a minute on the phone before he went on the air.

Seems like a cool guy. We did find common ground with the Cowboys, though. ;)

I like Tree. I hope he winds up having a great career in the NFL. Unless for some stupid reason he winds up in New York or Philly, that is. Then I'd wish him nothing but bust status.

I hope his Wonderlic score was high, because his simplified offense he came from will be light years ahead of that in the NFL. The terminology is much more complicated in the NFL.

I heard them talking about it on Sirius this morning and he said for a play called Aces 8 (I think) in college they would have a much more complex name for it in the NFL and his absorption of that would be key to his maturing as an NFL WR.

This has nothing to do with his physical talent but his ability to comprehend the NFL jargon.

I don't know that I would make too much of it. The called plays name usually tells the WR his route anyway; he just needs to know where to line up.

Going to the Raiders seems like a hell.........but.....

If Jamarcus ever finally get's it......They would have Russell, McFadden, and Crabtree. You're talking about the new triplets!

thats not exactly saying much. this draft doesn't come at you with a list of guys who could possibly pro bowlers/all pros for years to come

Well, it also designates their blocking assignments, patterns and such. He needs to understand all of that. And then he needs to know the information and digest it within a few seconds of hearing the call in the huddle.

The only people that play for the Raiders are people drafted by the Raiders and people who get way more money than their worth from the Raiders.

So you are saying they are the West Coast version of the Commanders, huh?

I don't understand how he woudl want to play for the Cowboys and the Browns. Complete opposites if you ask me.

Russell is in NFL purgatory... I don't see him ever making his career in football worth equal to his pay... He is terrible...

Triplets???? I highly doubt that. McFadden is one knee injury away from mediocrity. He is the best player on that team cept for Asomunga... sp?
