I didn't because I heard it didn't cover if you dropped it or water damage.

Apple Care doesn't cover accidents unfortunately. There are however several companies that do replace screens as well as the Apple Store. I've got no idea on prices but my sister had hers replaced after her daughter dropped it.

There is a guy in north dallas I think that fixes iphones.

Friend of mine went there and got his fixed for $65 but it was a battery issue...

I don't have an iphone but know a few folks who do. One of them cracked his screen too. He ordered a do-it-yourself replacement kit online.

Apparently among the required tools is a hairdryer (the heat helps release the glue that holds the screen to the phone ...).

So apple charges 199 to di it and you still have a warranty. I've seen DIY kits for on amazon for 20 bucks and up but I'm pretty sure they void the warranty. If the DIY screen kits are anything like the DIY battery kits for the ipods they arent very hard to do. Check youtube and see if its something you can handle before you decide. Or as I had a friend do just report it lost or stolen, jk


So glad I have my phone in an otter box 49.99 > 199.
