Crayton a tough act to follow.

Not only because he has worked so hard all season, or that you hate to see any of our players go down for an expanded period of time.
The biggest reason I hate to see Crayton go down is that he plays his position the 'right' way, and does all the little things that helps his team win.
Of his four catches yesterday, two were long third down plays that went for first downs. They went for first downs because Crayton runs his patterns PAST the 1st down marker, or close enough so that when he does make the catch, he can use his superior strength & determination to drag whoever is trying to tackle him past the spot.

Crayton also is one of our best blockers, period. When he blocks an opponent, he does so until the whistle blows, & sometimes after. His man rarely makes the play on the ball.

Whether it's Price or Copper who ends up filling in for Crayton while he's gone, either one will have some big shoes to fill.

When the Cowboys drafted Crayton with the 7th pick in last year's draft, I thought, "Oh, well, another wasted low round pick." Never heard of the guy. Well, he has made a name for himself, and I sure appreciate what he means to this football team. I also pray that he heals quickly & gets back to doing what he loves more than almost anything else in the world-playing football for the Dallas Cowboys.

I agree. I couldn't believe the prevailing attitude around here which seemed to be "Oh, now Price can play..."

Crayton is a big loss. Not to mention the development time he loses being on the sideline.

I too think Crayton is a big loss. His hands are spectacular and he's so strong that rarely did you see him go down prior to crossing the first down marker.

He's the perfect third receiver.

Maybe Price can bring a little something else to the table... compete with his speed and quickness whereas Crayton succeeded with his hands and saavy route running.

It'll change the offense a little, but we should be okay... we'll miss him though.

Excuse some of us while we call BS. Sure we want to see Price play. I dont think I ever saw folks screaming for Price over Crayton. We knew why Price was here. Insurance for any of the 3 that went down. That included Crayton. People were set w/ Crayton at 3. Stop seeing ghosts. We dont like it Crayton got hut. That is football tho. Now Price is here to step in and fill his shoes.

To be honest. I think Price will surprise alot of you. Price is a very good #2 anywhere. Playing in Craytons position should see Price w/ some big catches and RAC yrds.

Go back and read posts from yesterday. Very few were like the post above.

The bulk of the comments about Crayton's injury involved Price. Granted, I am sure many were glad that the insurance option was there, but this board has been obsessed with getting Price on the field ever since his signing.

But Price will NOT replace Crayton's toughness which really sparked the offense again and again. Let's hope he offsets that with some long ones!

I don't mean to compare injuries and I am not a doctor But didn't T.O. Suffer a broken ankle last year? Wasn't he back in Six weeks? and isn't he ten years younger than T.O. ? My uneducated guess says he'll be out the usual 6 to
8 weeks.

I Agree 100%. We all will miss crayton far more than we now realize. I felt he had the potential to be a huge threat by December. It iritates me that this had to happen in an OT period that should not have to be played.

I agree, Cogan... If you asked me to name my favorite five or six players on the team, they'd all be on defense. But Crayton really, really grew on me this year. Like you said, besides his excellent hands, he's extremely tough and deceptively physical out there. I think we're going to miss him a lot even with Price, and I feel very bad for Patrick himself after how far he'd come as a player.

That would depend on the severity of the break. I hope Crayton can get back into the lineup this season. In the meantime Price will have to prove himself and try to add to this offense.
