Did anyone else get as much enjoyment out of seeing our 7th round draft pick school their 1st round draft pick ?

I was one of those that was very upset when we did not get Jammer in that draft. So I was very very pleased by the results of that matchup.

Not only did Crayton physically school him.....but he mentally schooled him as well. Chances are we would not have won that game if not for the numerous holding and interference penalties by Jammer on Crayton.

As Chuck Cooperstein said, Jammer made it known he was going to play his game and he dared the refs to throw the flag on him...and they did

When I first read that I remember thinking how stupid Jammer was for making that public......

Jammer had one PI on Crayton and his other PI was on TG.

Just before half time, Bolts cornerback Quentin Jammer intercepted a Bledsoe pass, but the play was called back because the Chargers had too many players on the field. In the fourth quarter, Jammer was called for defensive holding on a 3rd-and-16 play.

Your 100% correct, I can understand his decision to just play the game the best way he knows how. I think all players have to do that but to come out publicly and dare the referees to do something about it is just plain stupid.........

I wouldn't give him credit for a good play here -- Bledsoe saw the flag and knew he could throw a high risk pass. That's an excellent play by Drew.

I agree. :flagwave:

Actually this was a very heads up play by Bledsoe. This is what experience does for us. It was a no risk high reward decision.

I was one who was high on jammer coming out. just think where we would be at if he would of been there, and we would of taken him isntead of Roy Williams.

I think cb's take a 3, 4, or even 5 years to develope sometimes, so give Jammer some time, just like TNew.

Some DP's simple develope quicker, and it helps to have blazing speed or size when you're a cb. But I thought that Crayton had an outstanding game against whoever they put on him, and remember who Crayton caught the TD pass on against Washington last year that helped us win the game, Shawn Springs.

Anyway, think how many interceptions the Cowboys could pull in if they could go twelve men on the field.....

I'm more disappointed that TNew wasn't more like DeAngelo Hall. He was very physocal with TO and was in great position on most defenses.

I would expect us to put Henry on TO

If you watch the tape, they did complete 3 maybe 4 passes on TNew, but after that, there were no more passes thrown his way - I wonder why. Maybe it was because his man was covered?

TNEW is doing a good job IMO

I just think Henry is better suited to man up against the physical receivers.

Newman put on about 15 pounds of upper body muscle before last year and goes around 195 now. He is not a huge CB but he is not that small either. He is also learning how to use that extra muscle now and has become a very effective CB. They caught a couple of passes early on him but nothing that you could really call getting burned and then he pretty much shut them down with tight coverage and some good defensive plays.

I don't think we will let TO take us out of our game plan by having a particular CB shadow him. We will cover him with whoever he lines up against. The only concession I can see us making might be to pull Newman back out of the slot and let Glenn go there if TO would be on Glenn outside. TO would present a physical mismatch for Glenn and I don't know if Glenn is good enough to compensate.

As for Crayton I just have the feeling that he will be schooling a number of CB's before this year is done. He is just a phenomenal talent IMO.

And yes Jammer should have kept his mouth shut about his intentions to play his physical game. He just drew attention to himself with his comments and the last thing a CB should want is attention.

I was too, I had no problem taking Williams but if you had asked me 10 times that day which would I rather had 9 times I would have said Jammer.

Boy am I glad it didn't go that way...
