Wait until a team becomes really shallow at receiver due to an injury, and Crayton's value will be much higher.

The same thing with Martellus Bennett, especially if he has a strong preseason.

I can't wait to see our 2nd string in preseason LOL

LOL.... assuming we start the typical 2 WE, 1 TE, and a RB/FB....

The second string offense is going to look like this at the skill positions...

Kitna out there throwing to Dez, Crayton, Bennett, and either Barber or Jones in the backfield.

LOL..... that offense could still score some points against #1 defenses.

Now that I see your sig, would you still have wanted to trade our first for Gaither? In other words, would you now trade Bryant for Gaither?

Wasn't this talk always about a second round pick? Would anyone give up Sean Lee for Gaither?

Yeah, but Galian's sig says " Officially on the "Trade our 1st for Gaither" bandwagon."

Why Dez? Assuming Craytons gone he's the SL.

Dez will be practicing with Tony not Kitna.

I created the sig, before the idea that he could be had for a 2nd.

And in regards for trading Sean Lee for Gaither, I would do it in a heartbeat. Sean Lee won't even start for us this year.

In case of an injury, you would rather have Bobbie Carpenter starting??

Every year there are 5-7 season ending injuries that hit. You never know which position it is going to smack, so decent depth at every position is a useful hedge.

I see no way in the world we trade Martellus Bennett...won't happen, not even for a 2nd rounder.

We have 3 TE's...we'd be down to two, and Phillips is going to be H-backing it quite a bit. If Witten went down, Phillips is not the athlete to step in as #1.

We need all 3 of these guys...besides, the draft was as deep at TE as any position on the field...and tons of them were drafted...there's no real value market right now.

The only way we'll get anything for Crayton is if someone wants him bad enough to want to avoid a bidding war...but he may even be viewed as overpayed right now. He is probably more valuable to us than to other teams who know they can just wait, that he'll be released, and that they can then sign him much cheaper.

Well given the faith they've put into Doug Free I'd say that Gaither probably wouldn't either. The team seems pretty much sold on going with Free.

They have a plan...they'll sign a veteran backup in case Free struggles.
We have some young guys to work in as well.

All those linemen drafted...that means lots of veterans, just like FAneca, are going to be released...we're not looking for a starter....we're looking for a backup who has a little experience.

Doug Free is going to be the starting LT...people are worried about his backup, but don't seem to be bothered that we'd be going into a second consecutive season with the prospect that Carpenter would be the starter inside if either Brooking or James went down.

I love the Sean Lee pick....so does the coach....you can cover for a weak LT by giving him help, but if you have a bum like Carpenter starting at ILB, your defense is in serious trouble.
