Crazy As It Sounds, Hoping Adam Jones Comes Back Soon...

I know this sounds crazy but I am hoping Adam Jones come back soon! Here is why in MO.

First, Jerry Jones spent alot of time and effort to get Adam Jones. JJ gave Adam Jones another chance at playing football after being suspended for a full year. So, the time and effort to get AJ is worth giving him one more shot.

The most important reason IMO of getting Adam Jones back is that Adam Jones owes Jerry Jones and his teammates the best that he has to offer.

This is Adam Jones 15TH chance, UMMMM, sorry, last chance to play football in the NFL! I really do believe, finally, this is it for Mr. Jones.

Let me continue here. Look, we are getting Newman back after our Bye-week which will no doubt help out the secondary because Newman can lock down his man without help.

How does Adam Jones fit in here you ask? Well, let me say this, Adam Jones should and will be hungary to get on the field. A do or die situation. He owes the Cowboys organization and his teammmates.

On the field Adam Jones adds experience and depth. With Henry and Newman on the islands, Jones can become the slot guy the Cowboys were hoping he was going to be when the first aquired him.

By getting Adam Jones back along with Newman our secondary looks a heck of a lot different. Newman, Henry, AJ, Mike Jenkins and Scandrick.

Look at what we have currently. Newman(Hurt), Jones(Suspended), Henry(Hurt but starting), Jenkins(Starting but just a rookie), Scandrick(Nickle CB but a rookie) and Alan Ball(Second year player).

So I ask what roster do you want, the first or the second that I mentioned? I would hope the first!

Yes, I don't like Adam Jones the person(Hope he can get better for himself) but Adam Jones the football player, well, he has talent and if he can get his head straight hecould be the player that Jerry Jones had envisioned.

Now, I am not saying Adam Jones is our savior but I am saying that I think he can help. Getting Henry and Newman healthy will be the key because we can ease Adam Jones back into the game.

As I said in another post a few weeks back, maybe the suspension of Adam Jones was a blessing, so to speak because it gave Jenkins and Scandrick reps in a live game.

The bottom line is if Adam Jones gets better in rehab and the commish let's him back this year i am ready to welcome him back because the Cowboys are going to need every player that they can have or get to help make a run to the playoffs!

I did like the fire he showed on the field. Guys like that are competitors and drive themselves to get better when they make mistakes (on the field). In regards to his off the field issues, maybe this is what he has needed to get his life together. If he gets another chance, and blows it... well then its a different story.

I hope Dallas stays away from the guy, right now this team does not need any added distraction and the dog and pony show that will follow the return of Adam Jones is something this team does not need to contend with.

I agree. I want Jones back as well. Tell me he woud have let Bradshaw run right past him last weekend if he had a shot to lay a shoulder on him? No way.

He plays with a chip on his shoulder and that is something that we need...now, if he could get that chip on his shoulder under control when is is off the field we would be OK.

I know this isn't popular but I like the kid. I really do.

Good post.

I think he will be a key piece of this team if he can get back on the field if we are going to make any kind of a run down the stretch.

I firmly believe Adam got a raw deal on his past suspension. Although he knew that any type of incident off the field would be magnified beyond belief he still went and acted like a moron. Adam plain and simple has some serious talent. He wasnt playing nearly as good as he could during the first few weeks with the Cowboys, but give him 6-7 games and I believe he'll be starting opposite of Newman for good. I hope he comes back as I do believe in redemption. If he does something one last time, then Id have no problem Roger banning him for life. I hope Adam knows ITS THAT SERIOUS.

He's done as a Cowboy.
I dont think he's done but i dont think the cowboys will resign him, and if they do it wont be a long contract.

I'd like to believe that this was finally the situation where he gets it and straightens his life out but it seems like fans of this guy have been saying that for over a year now by saying his 1 year suspension was going to be where he 'got it'.

I'm just not sure the guy will ever get it.

Well then you're wrong. If he isn't done with Dallas they don't have to resign him, he's already got a deal in place, and they've never cut him from that deal. If he just comes back to Dallas it's with the deal he already has in place which is something like a 5 year deal for a bag of peanuts and a soda.

I'm thinking they would restructure that to an even lower deal, i know its low right now but he has no other options at the moment.

I'm honestly not sure how much lower they could get his deal. He's not getting much as is which was a brilliant, and forth thinking, move by Jerry and Stephen to make sure they didn't invest too much in this unreliable player.

Well put sir. He is a talent on the field, but we need to focus on football right now, and leave the distractions behind.

IMO, the distractions is what started this mess.

Yeah me too...

I like watching Jenkins quit on and be scared to tackle Brandon Jacobs... I mean Dedric Ward..

Damn....I didn't think I'd posted anything about Jenkins.

Just shows what three lil words can do.

Adam Jones came back to football with Dallas and immersed himself in it pretty much this summer... by doing that, he could just focus on football and begin to regain his form from 2 years ago. Off the field stuff was pretty minimal at that point because I believe there wasnt much. It's his decision making when he's off the field now is what will be undoing if he doesn't learn to control his penchant for trouble.

I'm indifferent if and when AJ gets back... If he does come back soon then cool. Which I really think will happen just for another round of the media circus, and to get a few more of those TV ratings... If not... keep the rookies in there and let them learn. Hopefully Newman's return will have him healthy and better than the last performance vs the Skins.

Myself, I can't wait to get the other Jones back... Felix the cat
