The gray cat is like one of those obnoxious friends always trying to seperate their buddies from fighting.

"yo, YO BRO leave him alone! YO"

Then after a little bit, they just follow.

I noticed that, too. He was just getting in the way for awhile, then seemed to want to get in the action toward the end.
