This might stir things up a bit. ST's play is very important...what if...a personal foul or any type of 15 yard foul on an extra point got the kicking team close enough to put the kickoff through the uprights?

it could be rewarded +1 extra point and then send them back to the normal spot to kick . so, if it happened it would be like a (2) point conversion at that point after a scoring play.

just a thought.... it happened this past weekend and got me thinking. what if?

There are times when kickers put the ball through the uprights from the normal kickoff spot. Giving them 15 extra yards,a tee and the other team not rushing does not provide much of a challenge.

You know, when I look at the NFL and think about what's missing, the first thing that comes to mind is, "we need the kickers to score more points." And the second thing is, "there needs to be a way for a team to score points that the other team can't do a thing to stop."

Changing the topic a bit, the real problem is TOO MANY points scored by the kicking team. When 50-yard field goals become automatic, there's less incentive to go for it on 4th down from the 35-yard line, which translates into fewer actual football plays (and in particular, fewer high-leverage plays), which translates into an inferior product. And the thing is, there's a really simple fix. Make the goal posts narrower already!

Put a set of wide hashes in outside the normal hash marks and any team that runs a play and gets tackled out there has to kick FG attempts from that hash and get an extra 2 point on FG under 40 yards and extra 1 points for kicks over 50. Why you ask the angle at 40 yards will make those uprights pretty close together.

Seriously? Five point FGs? Why don't we just replace the whole game with a field goal kicking version of HORSE?

It was idea its not like the team can choose on forth down to move the ball from the normal hash mark to the more difficult one, they would have to had planned with the previous play calling to get to the wider hash mark.

Basically, I'm going to hate any idea that makes kicking a more important part of the game.

Touchdowns get you one point, but a chance to get 6 more on the PAT?

FGs: If you make the first one, you get only one point, but you get to keep trying them from 5 yards back each time until you finally decide to quit. But if you miss one after the first kick, you don't get any of your points?

Change OT rules to be a soccer-style head to head kick-off where teams get to see who gets the best of five kicks in a row? Sudden death after that?

Wow, you've really turned me around on this. I would watch the heck out of that. Count me in!

Sorry, I was a little late taking my meds today. I'm all better now.

I'll tell you, though: I wouldn't watch that league, but I'd definitely watch Hostile watching that league!
