Crazy facts?

The Dallas Cowboys have never advanced to or beyond the conference title game without a player
that was coached by Tom Landry on the active roster.

But no one wants to win more than Jerry.

As long as he gets all the credit, of course.

gm's are bean counters in today's nfl. they deal with cap issues and contracts. successul teams have good coaches. saints--payton. steelers--tomlin. patriots--belichick (don't even have a gm). seahawks--carroll. chiefs--andy reid. no need to go on.

crazy fact, but totally meaningless. landry's final season, the cowboys were in last place and the worst team in the nfl.

I heard a crazy stat this morning and verified it to be true.

Since 1996, there are only 4 NFC teams that have NOT made it to the Super Bowl. Yep, we are one of those. The other three are Washington, Detroit, and Minnesota. Only three haven’t made it to the conference title game.

How many times over would the GM have been fired if he were anyone else? We can keep blaming anyone we want. Players, coaches, etc... The proof is in plain sight.
how many in the AFC dont gloss over it

People on this board have ben updating this stat every year for like 15 years
By "people" he means me.

Can't build championship rosters when the head personnel evaluator has no real accountability. A GM has to feel his livelihood is tied to the success and failure of his roster decisions.

As of 1996, let's face it.....Dallas has become Cincinnati South...yeah, the infamous Bungles. We used to laugh at them every year...and we still do. Which is what Dallas has become to other fans now. And why people laugh when Jerry comes out every year with his rainbows and unicorns speech about what the Cowboys will do that year. We would laugh at the Bungles too if they said crap like that.

Jerry Jones is the owner. He is also a control freak and can't let the history of the Dallas Cowboys take precedence over his ego. I often wonder if the time comes that he passes on, will it be just the same way, keeping the franchise in the family and overriding great football minds only to sink it into mediocrity?
Jones is one of the greatest owners in the history of the NFL and a ambassador of the sport.

Unfortunately, he's not a competent general manager. It's like an Ant Farm to him. Which is why I don't let things bother me. It's not going to change.

Ah yes.

The Lions, Commanders, and Vikings, perfect organizations to model yourself after. They go along well with the other model franchise mentioned today, the Jaguars.
What teams haven't had at least 1 change at GM besides the Cowboys?

49ers have had 6 gms since 96.

They've been to the superbowl 2 times this past decade. They fired Baalke who was the gm in 2012 when they went to the sb after the team struggled. Then they hired Lynch who rebuilt the team for their last sb appearance.

But we’re #1 in Revenue. And by a long shot. Our GM gets the last laugh.

What about the teams that it has made a difference for?
Amazingly to the other teams disgrace they haven’t fared any better than our GM this era . They have attempted to do it the right way and failed too. The biggest difference is they actually have a shot to eventually get it right.
