American Creativity Association International Conference 2007

March 21 - 23, 2007 in Austin, TX Pre-Conference Institutes on March 20

Creativity does not exist in a vacuum. While having specific meanings and nuances to those who are engaged in its study or its application, it is a term that requires greater definition and greater common understanding of its power to effect change and promote greater harmony throughout our national and international societies.
As we gather for the 2007 ACA International Conference, our theme will be Creativity@Work. Our vision is to explore all aspects of "creativity" as applied to the pragmatic challenges and opportunities we have to improve the quality of life of people everywhere -- including, but not limited to, business & industry, education, technology, leadership & culture, health care, and nonprofits. Bringing ideas to action, innovation to market, and creativity's role in learning will also be explored.
While proposals will be entertained on all aspects of the study and application of creativity, conference organizers have given special attention to those proposals that reflect the theme or show a correlation with the theme in their titles and session descriptions. Another area of great interest is "hot" and "upcoming" areas in which creativity is playing a key role, such as cmmunities of practice, creating conversations and collaboration, etc.
Conference Goal: to offer participants an opportunity to learn, observe, and engage in the craft of creativity. Presenters and participants will learn from each other through interacting and addressing real challenges and opportunities facing all sectors of our lives.

This is my friend's idea of creativity at work. (Bubble wrap over everything and a cubicle full of packing peanuts...) Makes me happy that I work remotely from our office, lest I fall victim to one of his pranks! :D

Per my friend:

"One of my friends from work made the mistake of taking some time off from work. However, he made the fatal mistake of leaving his cube unguarded. Meaning I had the opportunity to issue payback for two and a half years of rubber band attacks. I think the picture below speaks for itself:

You know, it’s not often I get the contented, satisfying feeling of a job well-done at the end of the day. This might have been the most productive day I’ve ever had at work. So it’s nice to truly revel in my output."

one of my assistance was transferring to another store, and we had a super tight crew everyone helped out everyone with anything. so when it came to his last day, we decided to get him.

first our store has in the back rafters that you can walk on.

second 4 of us went to the rafters with flour and 5 of us were on the ground with water in buckets

we paged him into the back room and when he got to a certain spot down came the flour then the water came in

:D we all forgot that when you mix them they become sticky so he had to take his clothes off and drive home in his boxers, rather embarrassing for him
