I don't understand the story. The photo taking really has no impact on the people being stuck on the plane. The crew could have been doing any number of things and the people would have still been stuck on the plane due to mechanical problems. The photographs weren't the reason the people were stuck on board.

The rules regulating people being stuck on the plane should be examined. I have heard horror stories quite often about passengers being stuck aboard a flight that isn't flying. That is a separate issue from the crew taking photos.

The crew could have been in the back telling jokes or watching kitty-cat videos or whatever laughing it up, so does AA owe them compensatory miles for that too? The guy being interviewed even said they were "out there having a good time, having fun and we were in the plane stuck". That guy sounded like a kid who is grounded or something.

Only way a situation like this upsets me is if the crew is restricting my movement and the cabin is hot and stuffy. That would really irritate me to see the crew screwing around while everyone else had to stay in their seats.

I was on a plane once-first-class international flight from Asia. Unbearable heat. A morbidly obese man boarded with me and was sitting in the back of the first class row. He had a heart attack and *died*. In the process, he understandably messed himself and the chair he was sitting in. We sat there for two hours in the blistering heat, no air conditioning, and it stank (obviously), while the seat was removed (unbolted from the floor) and whatever paperwork was processed. Everybody in the cabin (there were only a dozen or so of us), was morbidly depressed and unbelievably uncomfortable. They wouldn't let us deplane. Then we had the 15 or so hour flight back home from Sydney, AUS. I think they also lost my luggage. It was the worst trip, ever.

Yeah, it's pretty sad this guy would be such a pansy about things.

"I'm not having a good time so nobody else should either". I hate the fact that AA even acknowledged it, but that they actually apologized is just stupid.

They should have just sent him back to the terminal to wait until the following days flight.

It was actually worse than I described. The guy had turned blue, and they had to wheel in this skinny wheel chair to get the body out. The tried to cover him in a blanket, but he'd messed himself, was blue, and obviously dead. They tried to act as if he were in cardiac arrest and needed resuscitation, but, as they were wheeling him onto the gangway, he was so heavy, they dropped him. Three times! It was almost comical if it weren't so undignified. Really sad, all around. Until people starting getting angry.

The article says pretty clearly the passengers were allowed off the plane and offered accommodations. If he chose to sat on the plane, and then ***** about it, he's a *******.

Well, I was stuck on a plane for nearly two hours before takeoff and...nevermind, nothing of mine compares to your experience.

The next time I'm stuck on a plane (and there will be a next time) I will have to remember that as bad as I have it there are people who have it much worse.
