Cricket out 2-4 weeks

Wade says meniscus tear.

Wonder if this affects his longer term future.

Step on up, Gronk.

Call up time for Scott Chandler so we have a 3 TE set again?

Deon Anderson has a torn MCL. He's out 2-4 weeks.

Deon Anderson out 2-4 weeks with scope on his knee. Chris Gronkowski is the starter at FB

Bad time for him to get injured...he might not have a job here when he returns.

On a rolling basis through training camp, it's been one after another.

FYI, Gronkowski plays a different role. They would have to find another fullback better than Anderson to replace him, because Gronkowski is playing the H-back role.

This is true. Chris Gronkowski does not have to step in with a herculean effort to fill in for him while he's out to be effective.

It's going to be one of those years.

it seems we have had our share of injuries already. hoping they all heal and are ready in december when it counts.

Impossible. He's more Todd Fowler than Moose.

As much as I like Crisket's fun-loving personality from when he was drafted, and though my wife still fondly remembers him talking about "chiclets" on Hard Knocks, I don't think he is the kind of guy who will ever make it through a season healthy, and I don't know if he is enough of a difference maker to wait on constantly.

I think Gronkowski has a great shot of keeping that job permanently, and I even wonder if a guy like Scott Chandler could get a look?

Can we PUP him? :muttley:

Sorry it had to be done. :D

I say put him on the IR then let him go on his way next season. Go with Gronk.

I don't even know how we could run the 13, 21, 22 and 23 formations now.

Put him on IR for a 4 week injury? You may as well cut him now and give him an injury settlement if you don't like him.

am i the only one not really disturbed by this? its not like hes irreplaceable and i think gronk has shown he wont be much of a downgrade, if any.

I'm aware of that, but I also saw Gronkowski line up as a FB in preseason and the season opener. if he shows he can do that job well, Anderson might become expendable.

One thing that helps DA is his value to coverage units though.
