Crossing routes, screens, and motion the key

Notice how many big plays were made by cooks due to the crossing routes. Huge! San Fran always has huge chunk plays with receivers in crossing routes. With speed and crossing the defender is almost always in a tailing position. What we also need is to get speed guys like Turpin, Pollard, Cooks, and even Vaughn in the flats and screens. Dallas is probably the worst team I have ever seen running screens. Both of these are creating huge chunk plays and could be the missing link in becoming an unstoppable offense.

We played a team that is tanking the season. Was still a good game that we used to improve our play and get the ball out to players. Even Deuce got in on it. But still no Luepke. He must have angered someone.

We would have beat them anyway but the crossing routes with Cooks and others are going to be key in destroying defenses. Getting open on crossing routes with a speed guy is money in the bank.

exactly, we put more pre-snap motion and started to attack down field and its been much better.

The extreme critics will not agree with me here...even though its a tactic they would employ if they were Dallas...

San Fran beat the tails off of us...is a better team...

BUT...you have to wait until Playoffs when teams show all their cards. Im of the opinion Dallas knows San Fran is good and they didnt want to show San Fran their offensive and defensive tricks. It was a scheduled loss unless San Fran made a bunch of mistakes.

Sure...San Fran can go back and watch film from games like yesterdays....they employ scouts to do it. But...it all comes back to why dont they or havent they shown these tricks/abilities in the past? The other team preventing them from doing it is not a good answer to me. There are games where dallas will just look vanilla on offense for no apparent reason. The other team taking some things a way is a thing....but Dallas trying nothing at all is an interesting thing too. Why try nothing unless youre holding things back on purpose?

If this is real and Dallas is smart...they would not have shown their full hand on San Fran. I get it....San Fran prolly played the same way vs us and whooped us straight up. They played man the whole game instead of zone supposedly...something they wouldnt do in Playoffs most likely. Why? You have to wait for the playoffs, unfortunately. No one knows what these teams are capable of until the playoffs. Got to get there first and then see how your team and QB does.

Thank you for being one the few to keep this game in perspective. Yes we played well....tried a few things that seemed to work.

But "we" (er....the team?)...has to keep working even harder. We will be facing tough teams soon enough.

All nonsense. The idea that Dallas decided to lose the SF game to maintain secrets is ludicrous. Winning routes and formations win games regardless of what is on tape. SF continues to excel because of this and it is all on tape. McCarthy is a rather stupid person but has discovered routes and motion that other teams are using to win games. Believing that Mike’s genius is not running plays that win games to win future games is nonsense. That would make me believe he is dumber than he already is.

It really pisses me off it took 10 weeks to realize how good Cooks still is. Just utilize his speed is all I ask.
Blame it on the QB for not maximizing his supporting cast potential soon enough. Look at how well Noah Brown is doing in Houston (with a rookie QB).

Lol, who needs home field advantage when you have "secrets?"

I disagree. The "copy cat" league thing you constantly hear when guys are competing for million dollar a year jobs makes sense...but not everyone is copying Mike McDaniels(or whatever Miamis coaches name is). Or Kansas City's. Some things you have to have a certain personnel for but for teams to not copy what these are doing or even try doesnt make sense to me.

Non-sense that teams hold stuff back or non-sense in scheduled loss. Our last OC even said in post game interviews they hold stuff back. To suggest its ludicrous is ludicrous. Im not trying to argue with you. I could point out things that dont makes sense all day and I believe posters would talk around it or make bad excuses for it. Nothing against you...its just how the internet is.

Then you hadn't paid attn to his career. I knew how good he was. I hated he wasn't getting the opportunities.

There were a number of factors, but I'm glad he got them this weekend.

Your argument gets weaker the more you post. Knowing there are plays that can win the game agains SF, yet not calling them is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard. And if that is the case, why we have not won a SB if 30 years. Not showing things in preseason is different. Not showing wrinkles when we are clearly pounding a team is different. Not calling winning plays to beat your main adversary is sheer lunacy regardless of when the game is played. And actually a psychological defense mechanism to similar to denial suggesting we actually are the better team and chose not to demonstrate it.

If anyone is to blame it's on Mike and the OC. They are the one's calling the plays not Dak.

However, this is typical Cowboys style management. They only react when their is a disaster or a major loss. If they treat every week like they have lost the game they will play with more intensity and the coaches will start to do a better job.

The crossers aren't there against the 9ers because their LBs can cover and they can rush the passer with 4.

Wink is a crappy DC when he doesn't have absurd CB play.

nah...i just think countries throw nukes at the end instead of at the beginning.

nukes in this football convo are "secrets" or plays we want to use when it matters instead of showing them too early when it doesnt matter.

but call me crazy. by all means. its reasonable.

im not saying I think Dallas is a better than anyone...im simply saying i think teams hold stuff back for playoffs and you cant really know how successful or unsuccessful those plays could change a game in a league with a lot of parody.

but tell me im unreasonable, dont make sense.

No linebacker is going to cover a Turpin or cooks on a crossing route.
