Pencil In Deon Anderson As The Fullback

[FONT=verdana, geneva]If you weren't already sure Deon Anderson would be the Cowboys' starting fullback despite missing the better part of a month right before the season after a knee scope, well, you now can be.

That means you can put down any Lorenzo Neal eyebrows that might've been raised.

"There’s no doubt that Deon can play," Wade Phillips said Monday afternoon. "I’m not going to give him a roster spot right here so he won’t do anything from now (until the season), but he’s a good player. He’s a good fullback for us and he’s a very good special teamer, probably our best special teamer coming back.

“We expect good things from him, and he’s a hard worker. He’s come back from injury a lot quicker than normally. He may be back before the Tampa week. He’s a good, solid football player. He’s a very aggressive blocker. He’s the strongest blocker we have at fullback, obviously."

So there. Phillips didn't want to completely dismiss the chance of backup Julius Crosslin still making the team, though he said the Cowboys will have to keep a minimum amount of players at certain positions.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. It always seems like Deon is getting injured.
