Cundiff missed, but play calling is awful

Cundiff will get all the blame for this, but Parcells and Payton are just as responsibile for this loss. I'm not sure about anyone else, but the -1 and two yard passes are not going to win a SuperBowl. Has there ever been a running back with five receptions for less than 10 yards? It's ridiculous. The pass call on third and one is the reason why we loss ... along with the short sideline pass for an interception and touchdown. Let's grow a pair and throw downfield with max protection. Theres an idea. I know Parcells won't change, but it's hard to get use to.

They were getting lots of pressure, that means you have to pass the ball quickly. That means a lot of short passes.

You can't throw downfield AND max protect. If you max protect you only have 2 WRs to throw to, 2 WRs vs 2 CBs + 2 Safeties is bad matchup. Simple math.

It's amazing how other teams do it. When we don't throw over 2 yards, we are in trouble.

Coaching had a great game plan for this game. The quick drop back passes and so on kept Denver's blitz off balance the whole game.

On that 3rd down play you have to go with what had been working. Wrong receiver to throw to though. I would of like Key out there or possible look for Witten. Nevertheless, it boils down to another different kicker killing us.

This time there was NOT a problem with the play calling. We played one hell of a good game against one of the best teams in the league and should have won it. When you play a good team like the Broncos you are going to have some negative plays. It is no shame nor is it the coaches fault in this case.

Even if Cundiff hit it, it guaranteed nothing. Denver would have been much more aggressive with their next drives.

The playcalling was fine for the most part. It's just those crucial situations and the red zone playcalling (AGAIN) that drives me up a wall.

I wouldn't even let Cundiff dress with the rest of the players. I would send him home.

Another thing (beside the bad playcalling with which btw i do agree) is why did JJ play so much. He just looked awful to me. He is just bad in catching the ball and his running just lacks the dominance.

MB looks much better to me. Why didn't they let him play. Did he get hurt?

I agree its hard to blame the play calling, I blame the Oline for their inability to open any holes in the running game and the FG kicker for again missing a chip shot in the 4th quarter. Its amazing to me how many years and games have been lost by that one position. JERRY get us a reliable FG kicker!

it worked twice with key, but no way we shouldve ran that play on 3rd on 1. we shouldve pounded the ball with barber.

I agree, that was a horrible call. Not only will the receiver expect a run play, he will play close to the line. Throwing directly to a receiver who is being shadowed by the defender is just another example of Drew's continuing decline. He really needs to step up.

A good game plan does NOT produce 21 points, especially when some of those points were the result of our defense. If you are happy with two offensive scoring drives a game, then you need to raise your standards.

Actually should of produced 24 points and don't forget the pick that Bailey took back was picked at there 35yd line. We were heading for points there. Ask anyone who knows football if they would take 24-27 points against an opponent like Denver and see watch you get.

It helps when the QB can get you the ball without you having to go back behind your back to get it, or having to jump to touch it. Watch those throws short to the running backs again. Nearly all of them were short, behind them, or where they had to jump. Put those in front of them where they can turn upfield, those are completely different plays.

Apparenty you didn't understand so I will repeat myself. Our defense gave our offense one touchdown so that means we had two touchdown "drives." Your football experts need to raise there standards too.

Yep especially when the defender is 2 yds away from the player :p

Whatch the game again: JJ just runs bad routes on the screens and has also a bad timing. On that pass to Glenn the CB was all over him even before Bledsoe threw the ball. he couldn't throw the ball in front of Glenn.
