So each year I get excited for the season to start and for the 'boys to roll and tend to believe what is said and written... and how they are going to be a very good team but each year they disappoint. So this year no predictions... no rah rah rah... just gonna see how it plays out.

same here

I am going to keep it 100. I think the Cowboys really need their very young secondary to develop and be a force. I have confidence in the D-Line and LB starters and depth. Even with Romo, we had decent LB and D-Line our secondary has been suspect for years.

I hope they are pretty pretty good

@cowboybish
Going to the beach excited: seeing pretty young women scantily clad, waves, sand, boardwalk, sun, etc.

Going to the beach with enthusiasm curbed: pretty young women scantily clad probably won’t talk to me, rip currents and sharks and jellyfish, sand in my rear end, splinters from the boardwalk, sunburn, etc.

Your choice.

Nah man, get excited. Why not?

We're all fools already.

I don't set myself up for disappointments any more, chaps.
I just anticipate an 8-8 season, or, in the future, an 9-8 season.
Jerry has groomed us to be happy with such. I just sleepwalk like the rest of you denizen blokes.
It is really quite comforting in a way, these lowered expectations.

I am excited that TC is here. I will be excited when the 1st PS is played, and even more when the last on is played.
Then anticipation until game 1. And will be very excited when that time comes.

However I will go into all this with a tempered enthusiasm as to my expectations of any outlandish achievements.
I do expect us to compete for the division though.

I'm going to wait until the games start, then go play by play.

Good play, "start planning the parade, boys and girls!"

Bad play, "cut them all, and fire the coaches!"

17 games one and done playoffs its the shortest seasons and longest offseason in any sports..

i look forward to football season both college and pro and they are rare compared to the excessive amounts in hockey, basketball and more ridiculous baseball..

its special so while not overly excited definitely looking forward to it..

I wish I was capable of doing this, but I'm not. We are going to rock and roll this year!!!! Let's go Cowboys!!!!!

I feel I should start a thread entitled
Not curbing my enthusiasm
Go Cowboys:flagwave:
Why would I curb my enthusiasm? Every year brings us a new chance to win a Superbowl. What, I'm suppose to root for a team, but not root for them to win it all? Who does that?

New year, new opportunity! GO DALLAS
