I am less invested this year than I have in 40 years being a fan of this team. Will I watch games? Of course...do I want to win? Of course. Will I lose sleep over this mess of a franchise if things go south? Nope. First time saying this

I have mostly ignored the Cowboys since the draft. And this year, for the first time since the 90's, I did zero predraft research on any of the prospects. I did watch parts of the draft to keep up with who the Cowboys picked, and am aware of the players who left. Dak's contract status bores me, as does the contract status for both Parsons and Lamb. I haven't engaged in any offseason speculations, and today (day 5) was the first time I even looked up any information about training camp. I watched a 5 minute video on Youtube, and got bored again.

I guess that after 50 years of watching the Cowboys (my first game was Thanksgiving, 1974), all the underperfomance of the past 3 decades finally has gotten to me. I curious, but I don't really care any more. And it's not just the Cowboys. All the politics being dropped into sports is a turn off also. Following the daily ups and downs of the Cowboys and other sports is just not exciting anymore. I don't want to be preached at, or be exposed to the ideologies that permeate sports leagues and sports journalism.

Bottom line is if you disrespect me, why should I bother to care about you. That's how I feel about most modern "entertainment" these days. And sports is just one more type of entertainment. They (the big nebulous THEY) don't respect consumers of entertainment, don't respond to our concerns, and simply treat us as idiot cash machines to spend on their drivel. The Cowboys have become part of that drivel. Every year, promises made and unkept - by owners AND players.

I'm sure I'll remain curious about the Cowboys. 50 years of being a fan will do that to you. But the truth is I really just don't care anymore. Why should I?
Right there with you brother, that packer game destroyed any hope I had for this current team,id have a lot more excitement and respect with a team of no names who bust there ***,like in the parcels years then I do with this current team of chokers .

Please list how they personally actively disrespected you alone

For some people, they get really bitter in old age. For others it’s just the opposite. It’s all how you look at life. If you let a sports team make you miserable, then maybe you should focus your energy somewhere more positive. This place is a cesspool of negativity so not a good place if you’re in a fragile state of mind. Good luck to you.
Nope.

I’m older and extremely optimistic about life, I work out five days a week even listen to EDM because I cant stand hearing the same songs for 40 years of me life but the Cowboys under Jerry deserve every bit of my scorn and unhappiness. You deserve what you tolerate.

I realize I cannot control anything but my emotions and pocketbook towards the team

Nobody wants to feel like this but shame on me for blindly supporting a flawed product due to narcissism. I refuse to do it but feel free to drop another hundred dollars on a jersey.

Hang in there bro. Good times are coming. And thanks for the EDM idea. I like it.
