Current Draft Order

I think Mikes are underrated value wise by alot of people. A good Mike can have a big impact on both the run and pass. They just aren't "one on ones" that tend to have a premium placed on them. Styles has only played Mike for one year and played at a very high level. So there is alot of upside. I see him as a Roquan Smith type guy

There's a reason they're almost never 1st rounders. Baltimore got Roquan Smith for a 2nd. No value in off ball LBs.

I think he is coverage ready for the position, but still is developing as a run defender.

Good ones tend to get drafted in the 1st rd, that stud from the panthers was a top 10 pick and worth it before those concussions. Ray Lewis was a 1st rd pick. Yes, most are day 2 selections, but special off the ball backers still get drafted in rd 1

Ray Lewis was 30 yrs ago, Keuchly almost 15.

1 MLB drafted in the 1st round in the last 3 years. Maybe one other off ball LB, period. Double digits at virtually every other position over the same time. Roquan Smith was younger than Micah when Baltimore traded for him 3 yrs ago, a 2nd and a 5th vs. 2 #1s.

The position isn't valued. You simply don't get your $ worth unless the player is extraordinary.

Are you talking off ball linebackers in general, or strictly MLBs?

That’s my point, if they are true blue chipper, they are still getting drafted in the 1st rd. By the way R. Smith is a former 1st rd pick

Both rarely get taken in the 1st. Jihad Campbell was last year, but I suspect they hope he turns into a passrusher. Alabama made him into a LBer because they had a glut of edges. Not a single true LB in the 1st of the '24 draft, 1 in the '23 draft. The position has less value than RB.

One hasn't been taken as high as 12 since 2020, unless you count Parsons, who clearly is anything but an off ball LB.

There's no value at the position. Drafting one high makes no sense. Even if they're good they simply don't make enough impact.
