Current NFL Standings

It would be funny if a team with a losing record ended up going to the Super Bowl...

If the Eagles had lost, it would have been possible for a team to actually enter the SB with a losing record.

If these teams made the SB they’d likely have a winning record because you have to count the playoff wins to get there.

Yeah , gotta be 6-10 heading into the playoffs. 9-10 for the SB.
Well the Cowboys and Eagles still play so one team is likely to get at least 7 wins. I still think the winner will finish 8-8. They said last night the NFCE winner has never won less than 9 games and that was only twice. So this is historically bad.

Yeah, the post above yours I said if the Eagles hadn't lost.

Didn't the Cowboys win it at 8-8 once?

Yes indeed and it was hard watching them play the vikings in the playoffs that year

it looked like they didnt belong there

Doing a quick scan, it looks like since 2010 (not Inc. 2019) the #6 ranked team in conference was left out the playoffs 5 times. #7 left out 2 times.

So this would be the 3rd time in 10 seasons the 8th ranked team squeezed into the playoffs. Not that rare at all.

Now it's quite possible that the winner of the NFCE could drop lower than 8. If so, that would be much more rare - if not unprecedented.

Points scored:

Patriots 338
Cowboys 334

Points allowed:

Patriots 168
Cowboys 267

It's almost as if there's something to this special teams and defense stuff.

I am just numb to it all anymore. Won't say I don't care, but am losing interest every day.

I just want Garrett out, no matter what.

Losing or winning record implies regular season.

We constantly see references to 12-4, 7-9 etc. but rarely ever see references to 15-3 or something like that.

Patriots offense has been garbage all year, so that offensive stat means nothing.

Were the 2010 Seahawks the last team to make the playoffs with a sub .500 record?

......not impossible, but not likely either...lol... Maybe..??? Only team that filled that blank spot was NY Football Giants of 07'.
