Cut Barron

Funny how Jerry doesn't mind opening up his purse for every skill position in the world but when it comes to protecting your QB we're trying to make do with a generic brand of stale Doritos.

 Before Flo left, there was a TON of money invested in the oline.

There still is quite a bit between Gurode and BIGG Davis. Colombo has a decent size contract too.

He was terible this game by anyone's standards but that last play was a flat out criminal attempt at a block with the game on the line. We ned to get someone, anyone in there to give us some depth. He is not worth the food he will eat on the ride back to Dallas.

And to top it all off, it appeared like he was all smiles after the game. He is a ****ing bum.

You saw that too huh ... he is robbing Jerry in every way

Here is the deal with cutting Barron.

While Colombo is out, your only other tackle is Robert Brewster.

Brewster is without question worse than Barron. Brewster says he is in the best shape of his life, yet he easily has well over 50lbs of blubber on his stomach. (I saw him raise his shirt!) This kid is FAT and SLOW. He MUST convert some of that fat to muscle. Until then, he can't replace Barron unless you want Romo seriously injured. I will take Barron's holding call over Brewster flat out whiffing and Romo end up being roadkill.

Now, you also have Sam Young. This guy is raw, but at least he appears to be a fighter. I would be far more likely to replace Barron with Young than fat*** Brewster. (even though I would be extremely nervous with Sam in there too) The problem is Sam was injured and has even less experience than he could have had when he returns if he had played the entire preseason.

So, basically our choice is take the least of two evils. Right now, I have to go with Barron. Romo is far to important to this team to let Brewster man the right tackle position....

:(

I disagree, Brewester seemed to be fine at RT and would probably fair no worse than the heartless sieve starting last night.

You know not what you say. This ain't preseason and he isn't playing against 4th stringers.

How can you say that? Tim McMahon tweeted last night (after the game) that Jerruh thought Barron played well (except for the holds). c:mad:

So, apparently Jerruh has no problem with him :-/

You guys are idiots. Barron gives you decent depth at the tackle spot. The guy's not a bonafide starter, but he can be a stop gap when injury is an issue. You want to blame someone, then blame:

1. Garrett/Wade for not taking a knee before the half.
2. Choice for not holding the ball.
3. D#uchebag Buehler for missing the FG (Bet he stops flexing in the weight room mirror for a while now).

It's all a knee jerk reaction because Romo hit Roy in the endzone for a TD. If Barron had not held him, Orakpo would have sacked Romo. No TD, then we'd be knee jerking on something else......

As much as I dislike Jerruh Jones, I have to agree with him that Barron played decent for what he is.

The lose shouldn't entirely be pinned to Barron. Choice and that playcall deserve some as well. But 3 holding penalties in 1 game is embarrassing and basically says he is not even a good stop gap player. He has a history of penalties, it's something he's been doing for years. I'd rather see what Brewster has...and then Sam Young after he gets healthy.

I'd cut him today. He won't be here next season anyway and it would send a message. Phillips won't let that happen, he's too nice of a guy. But Jimmy Johnson would in a heartbeat (ala Curvin Richards).

You actually think he could do much worse than three holding penalties and beaten on several occassions otherwise?

Brewester started a couple of times against first teamers and did well on the right side.

At what point does our worthless oline COACH start getting some of the blame? Why after years of horrendous line play is he never spoken of?
