If I was a special teams coach, I would never even risk something like this happening...same with blocking on returns. Just have them drop back into coverage and if every return is a fair catch, so be it. Too many times I've seen special teams players be stupid enough to mess something up. At this point, just take the opportunity out of their hands to screw up.

Now that we’ve won, I can admit that only one of those penalties was bone headed. The face mask could happen to anyone and the offsides was not a good call IMO.

I’ll actually defend him here. I think the offsides thing was probably nonsense and even if true it was so slight. The running into the punter, he was hit in the legs and unfortunately tripped the way he did. I’m not saying I like what he did, but a lot of it was just bad luck.

yeah he tripped. very costly, and it sucked, but not necessarily a brain fart.

Go back and watch the 2 "bone headed plays", he was chop blocked and tripped into the punter and the offsides penalty was just flat out BS!! He was in Drew's face all game - no one has put pressure even remotely close to that on Brees all year!

Leon Lett had the most boneheaded play in history going after the Miami kick. Glad we didn't turn on him.

Not saying Gregory is Lett. But, he gets mistakes.

No. He is only counting like 1 million dollars against cap. Just needs to play limited snaps so he can't effect games in bad way. I would absolutely get him off punt team. But he gets pressure on QB and thats a premium.

The Defense has taken off since Gregory came back. This defense caves with Soft Taco over there. I feel bad for the kid. I can forgive him. He got back in there and balled.

Randy was getting pressure all game, I’ll take some over zealous plays occasionally if he’s going to bring some heat on the QB.

My biggest problem is the rush on that punt. Should’ve been a safe return where they just ensure the punter kicks it. Not a punt block. Now, I’ve seen a few posts where he was cut and may have lost his balance, so who knows?
